You, sir, sound familiar. You must be the guy who ran down a hill without shoes and once tried to father a son from Blissy but soon found out you were both of the same gender. LOL. Have you found your OT's yet, seņor?
Kidding aside, what Jack here says is true. If you wanna stick around in that company (or any company for that matter) get in and work your way up the ladder. Else, you're like pawns in a chess game (Personally, I'd prefer a smart employee over a hard-working one, but that's me). This company, and any other company like it, is highly dependent on the situation abroad. Since it's an American company it will inevitably target (usually) American customers. Makes sense -- they (owners) are familiar with the American culture, how it thinks, etc. But like any other business, it is also aiming to expand its market base and allowing more services. It's gaining momentum and popularity among European customers as well.
It will be around for a long time which ever way the outside economies swing coz the need will always be there. Technology is what drives the times nowadays and Innodata is right in the thick of things.
Innodata has its pros and cons. Gamay siya ug sweldo compared to most in the same business (if not THE lowest) but what I admired about that company is that they provide opportunity for even the disabled individual as long as he/she knows how to type and understands the necessities of the work at hand.
Just yesterday naa ko nakasakay na babae na employee diha with only one hand. Now, I dunno about you guys pero I need both my hands as I'm typing this. For her to have passed the training phase and to stay that long (I noticed medyo lata na iyang ID -- indicative na dugay na siyang empleyado) she must be fast. Other companies would have just shunned her outright for having just one hand.
When I was a PA back then (JSD group) I thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie from my team mates. I can even still remember their user IDs. The team outings (gasinuka-ay mi tanan sa Stakili), break times (magtrapik mi sa canteen), shift change (magtrapik mi sa dan that vehicles would literally stand still), buntagay OT, etc. I remember one time nagsakay ko jeep nya naay nangutana "Unsa ng eskwelahana dong?"
Tanan na akong mga amigo who also left that company always missed some aspect of it, but mostly it's because of their friends who are still there. Mao daw na nauso ang kanta na "Babalik ka rin" daw didto
