But what's the use of cosplaying if you don't win money? XD *don't hurt me, mga costrippers. XD*
TWELVE DAYS YEAH! The stress is making me hyper. ^^
oh btw, whatever happened to the bishounen contest? I wanna see that happen.

^Nah, having the opportunity to cosplay is a big prize already. You just can't cosplay while going to school or to the mall or something..
So having conventions and the chance to cosplay is enough already for some people. ^^
I have joined competitions and have won in all events that I have joined including the one where I was costripping (Special award). The prize money doesn't matter to me. Hell, I even enjoy costripping more than joining competitions. I cosplay because it's my hobby. It makes me happy. It's not because I am after the prize which can never compensate for all the things that I have been through preparing for the competition. Cosplaying is not about the money. It's about fun and passion.
Char...
Just my two cents. Ay cheap! Just my 115 million nalang. (Prize sa Lotto. mwahahaha)
loll...
What I mean is more like, when you costrip, you're still performing! (being in character, posing) so why not join the competition? It's great fun~~ ^^
And I don't really care about the money either, but prizes are indeed tempting.
I don't like competitions because of the cospolitics and drama.
I'm not even competing and strictly costripping YET I GET CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE.
Frankly, I'm so near to just quitting cosplaying altogether.
But it's something you've wanted to do again since you were HS and is something you've been waiting for since then, I think it's not something you just give up frivolously because of people ruining your fun.
For short: MANIGAS KAYO.
I see I see... Well, this is my first cosplay competition, so I wouldn't really know. I've read about it but experience is the best teacher. I'm more of a performer so I'd never get derailed by things like that. ^^ Don't quiiittt~~ without thinking it through first. (you probably have tho. XD) cause it's FUUUN. ^.^ And I am in HS so.... yeah. lol
I hate cospolitics too.
There are just some people who'd do anything for fame. They do dirty tactics and even deceive people just to be known. hahahaha...
Fame? No thanks. Eat it.
But I am not saying it's bad to compete. I have joined competitions. I just hate it when people play dirty.

I said the same thing too.
I told myself I wouldn't get myself affected over the matters in cospolitics but I found out that it had managed to seep into my person, hurting me more than I could ever imagine.
And besides, no offense to those who might find friends in cosplay, the people I often interact with in the cosplay world, more often than not, stay only as cosfriends. Rarely do they keep in touch or talk outside of the hobby. So I found it a little funny to quit when I've been in this more than anyone else probably has in plainsight. I first cosplayed when I was 15 and I have been waiting for so long to do it again. I'm 21. I've waited that long to be able to do this.
I barely know these people and I'm sweating so much for it?
...It doesn't make sense. xD
At least to me.
So yeah: MANIGAS KAYO.
*has never experienced cospolitics before and thus hasn't all that much of an idea on what you're talking about...*
Ok then~ I'll be careful and not play dirty. ^^ HAI!
::EDIT::
On a lighter, more random note, OMG the girl who played Haruhi last time is named KARA?! Srsly?? That's scary. Well, ok, not really since it's a common name... But yeah. XD
It's best you don't get into it. He he he.
But you know? It's something you just get into without knowing it. But just be careful anyway. ^^
Aah. Ate Kara. XD I randomly hugged her when I was conducting interviews during the first Otaku fest.
It was so embarrassing since I was stealing their precious rest time.
