“July 1, 2010,” he would say again, “is going to be a very, very big day.” -- Lebron James

why would he say this, if he's not leaving cleveland...? he is making everyone very anxious... including his teammates and the entire cleveland organization...

naunsa man tawn ni si stephon marbury.

    Yahoo Sports

i have read and seen athletes acting so childish at times but not as bad as this. wa gyud siguro si marbury gahuna huna nga gibayran siya para moduwa, dili ang mag amards. lupig pa man niya ang mga VIP nga nagbayad para motan-aw ug NBA, siya kay gibayran sa knicks ug $22M para molingkod ug motan-aw, bench pa gyud sa team ang gilingkuran.hehe.

marketing strategy for a man aiming to become a billionaire. if he'll say that he's staying in cleveland then teams will no longer chase him, or the least, a very few teams will go after him. for now, a series of serious suitors for lebron: new jersey, new york, and even the whole europe. either of them can offer and give a very hefty sum.

but he's making cleveland anxious for doing that... kung ako ang cleveland... i-trade nalang nako si lebron before 2010 happens... better to get someone in return than not getting anyone at all... basin maparehas sila sa orlando with shaq, nga nibalhin sa lakers, without getting anyone in return...

    LeBron James blasts Charles Barkley

CLEVELAND (AP)—LeBron James reacted strongly to Charles Barkley’s comments that the Cavaliers star isn’t showing respect for Cleveland fans and his teammates by discussing his possible free agency following the 2010 season.

“He’s stupid. That’s all I’ve got to say about that,” James said Friday night before the Cavaliers’ game against Golden State.

Barkley made the comments on TNT’s NBA studio show and Dan Patrick’s radio show.

“If I was LeBron James, I would shut the hell up,” the Hall of Famer said on Patrick’s show. “I’m a big LeBron fan. He’s a stud. You gotta give him his props. I’m getting so annoyed he’s talking about what he’s going to do in two years. I think it’s disrespectful to the game. I think it’s disrespectful to the Cavaliers.”

James, under contract for two more seasons, was bombarded with questions about his future when the Cavaliers visited New York to play the Knicks on Tuesday night.

The Cavaliers can offer him an extension as early as July 1, 2009. There has long been speculation James will eventually end up in one of the NBA’s larger markets and the Knicks have cleared salary-cap space in anticipation of the 2010 free-agent class.

“I think July 1, 2010, is a very big day,” James said when the Cavaliers were in New York. “It’s probably going to be one of the biggest days in free-agent history in the NBA. So a lot of teams are gearing up to try to prepare themselves to be able to put themselves in position to get one of the big free-agent market guys.”

Man, that would really suck. Pero as I've posted sometime before, the Cavaliers and Knicks have similar payroll to their players (4-5 people) who are under contract through 09-10. The Cavaliers may look for ways also to pry 1-2 all-star caliber players into the team, but they have to convince Lebron first to stay with them. If not, then they're gonna have a lot of options in the free agency list.

This puts pressure jud in the Cavaliers office, especially ni GM Danny Ferry. Also, sa Knicks nga daghan na raba fans nag-expect na makuha jud sa Knicks si Lebron.

If were Barkley and with that mouth of his, I would do the same thing. I really think Lebron James is being unwise in opening his mouth about such a sensitive matter. Yeah, the he's got two years with the Cavaliers, and the July 1, 2009 he is talking about is his player option for his last year.

I think this whole Lebron-out-of-Cleveland thing is gonna be running until that date, blazing through web headlines in the process.

But we do understand this is not your usual NBA, it's National Business Association naman.
