Hmmmm!... Naglibug lng ko, kay ingon sila chada pud kuno ang ASP, ga PHP man ko ron pero naa puy mga ASP pips, ingon sila mas nindot daw ang ASP. Pero for me mas nindot ang PHP kay la pa man ko kabalo sa ASP. Naa may idea mga brad?

Depende ni sa imong target.

ASP runs mostly Micro$soft machine and is not free.
PHP runs on any server. (ASP) PHP is open source and can be installed freely.

PHP and ASP are similar to Java servlet.
They are all server side scripting/programming to create dynamic html contents.

if PHP is like java servlet, does it need a servlet container? I don't know much about PHP but doesn't it use CGI as protocol like Perl?

Apache httpd (not Tomcat) acts similar to a servlet container if PHP is installed as a module/extension (mod_php). PHP could also be run as a CGI program but slower.
