I saw scans of this at a miniature hobbyist's website and another at a wargaming website, and it's truly fabulous. I crave for it.

1. Vonnegut books
2. On The Road by John Kerouac
3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson.
....hard to find, and i bet expensive. meh.
alrighty 3 books diay nga para nako? hehe i thought it was the other way around. okay, ma-giftan pa unta ko ani nga mga libroha: 1) Hang-ups: A Collection of Essays on Art by Simon Schama. ganahan ko kay ma-tulala man gud ko magtan-aw ug artwork, mao nga si simon schama nalang ang mo-explikar sa akoa. maayo kaayo sya, mura ug hiloton sa iya dila ang words nga gikan sa iyang utok.
"Art begins with resistance to loss; or so the ancients supposed...For art, like memory, is never truly solid (even when made from stone or wood or metal) and seldom free of melancholy ambiguity; it presupposes the elusiveness, if not the outright disappearance, of its subject. Its deepest urge is to trap fugitive vision and passing sensation - elation, horror, meditative calm, desire, pathos - the feelings we have when we experience life most intensely, before routine, time and distance dull the shock and veil the memory." Hang Ups by Simon Schama | Art and design | The Guardian
2) Evolution in Four Dimensions: Genetic, Epigenetic, Behavioral, and Symbolic Variation in the History of Life by Eva Jablonka, Marion J. Lamb. interesado ko mosabot bahin aning butanga, hilabina kanang epigenetics. preha karon, kung magsige ko ug inum ug kape, makaapekta kaha ni sa akoang genes? sa akong genes nga ma-passdown sa generation kung naa na koy offspring in the future? maski kape lang nga ininum in this lifetime? ambot lang kaha?
"Molecular biology has shown that many of the old assumptions about the genetic system, which is the basis of present-day neo-Darwinian theory, are incorrect. It has also shown that cells can transmit information to daughter cells through non-DNA (epigenetic) inheritance. This means that all organisms have at least two systems of heredity. In addition, many animals transmit information to others by behavioral means, which gives them a third heredity system. And we humans have a fourth, because symbol-based inheritance, particularly language, plays a substantial role in our evolution. It is therefore quite wrong to think about heredity and evolution solely in terms of the genetic system...The book is intended to be both a synthesis and a challenge." Evolution in Four Dimensions - The MIT Press
3) The Inclusive City: Infrastructure and Public Services for the Urban Poor in Asia edited by Aprodicio A. Laquian, Vinod Tewari, and Lisa M. Hanley. kini interesado sad nakong basahon, nya importante sad nga human nako ug basa, mahibaw ko kung unsaon e-apply ning knowledge-ja sa realidad. mas importante sad nga di lang ako ang makabasa.
"Residents of cities in developing countries often lack adequate urban infrastructure, including water and sanitation, transport, solid waste collection and disposal, housing, and other basic services. In Asian cities, great efforts are being taken to make urban services available, but access to these services is often not open to everyone ... Rapidly growing slum areas and squatter communities lack even rudimentary facilities. Faced with the polarization of rich and poor people, urban authorities are faced with the challenge of how to make cities more inclusive by making infrastructure and services available to all...Cities spur economic growth and act as the agents of cultural and political transformation. In an age of rapid globalization, urbanization erodes primordial identities and loyalties. At the same time, ... (urbanization) creates new groupings that promote exclusivity." Oh, I have 6 books that I would like to have for Christmas. Most have been ordered already from Amazon.com and the rest I will buy in Cebu.
1. Face Food: The Visual Creativity of Japanese Bento Boxes (Hardcover): For my collection of how-to-bento books. I make bento (Japanese-style lunch box) for my husband everyday and am planning to do the same for my daughter when she starts school, so my interest reading this type of books will be going on for a long time.
2. Kitchen Confidential Updated Ed: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly (P.S.) (Paperback) - although I am a big fan of his tv shows from A Cook's Tour to No Reservations, I have never read any of his books. I ought to start now, as it is his writing which started his ascent to world-wide culinary fame.
3. Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics: Fabulous Flavor from Simple Ingredients (Hardcover) - I am an Ina Garten fan. Her lifestyle is a dream.
4. Martha Stewart's Homekeeping Handbook: The Essential Guide to Caring for Everything in Your Home (Hardcover): I need a one-stop book on maintaining our house and I am sure with Martha's OCD this would cover everything!
5. Kulinarya Philippines (Hardcover): Philippine culinary world giants Claude Tayag, Margarita Fores, etc could never go wrong in making this culinary and recipe book on Philippine cuisine.
6. Culinaria Germany (Hardcover): To add to my current collection of these superb Culinaria books. I already have Italy, France, Spain, and Greece. Germany is it for this year.
