manual virus definition update for anti vir

i have no internet connection at home so i need to download the vdf file from the anti vir website. problem is there are no instructions on how to update the program manually. i tried deleting the existing vdf file in the anti vir system folder and just replaced it with the updated downloaded but the program won't start. i downloaded the same version of the program and vdf file because the website just says that they need to be the same version. any anti vir users here?

You must update your Anti-Vir program using the Internet update built in the program.

Your error Is due to the scan engine and the main program does'nt match the VDF-file.

So its best to use the main program ANTI-VIR to update, your VDF.

its a bug. actually your Antivir is already updated once your replace it with the newer .vdf file.

open the scan engine find the vdf version shown somewhere in the help > about toolbar

compare that one with the vdf version shown in the main program.

in my case the vdf version don't matched. the other says its updated, while the other says its not.

there are many programs that are updated not only the scan engine, and the
vdf.
You also need to update main program, the AVrep.dll file, and some dll files needed for the program.

Unfortunately the official site let you download only the updated vdf file. which
would not match the scan engine and other dll files.
and there are many files that needed to be updated in this program
not only the vdf and the scan engine.

For sure better use the internet updater that is built in sa Anti-Vir program.

bitaw. try to google AVrep.dll. maybe this will take you to websites that have this updated components. i believe naa ni makita, kay once naka visit ko ato then na download nako ni nga mga updated dlls.

a big problem if you don't have internet connection at home. tried to google it and searched some forums but no luck. i may need to switch to avg or avast then. thanks for the input.
