Most complicated story and why!

Hewwo ^_^ im kinda new to istorya sooooo first thread yay woooooo -firecrackers-

now to the serious bit. For YOU what was "THE MOST" complicated story and why?

For me it was neon genesis evangelion, which is considered still as one of the greatest anime of all time. Besides the cuteness plus of all the other ones on the market evangelion had a deep deeeep story line which most people did not understand first run through. It was a mecha anime (in the same era as gundam) though it was slightly not as well and it had one of the most kick ass endings of all time! I did mean deep, ever since the first episode its just been spiraling down and down all the way till the climax which is the movie "End of evangelion". Id highly recommend this to people who enjoy story based anime.

Not too many people have heard of the story but may have heard of the name if im not mistaken it was released in 1994 with the series following the next year if i remember right.

Even after watching it several times i cannot explain the whole thing in a summary thats exactly how vast and intricate a story involving themes of theology,philosophy, psychology, and meta physics is.

For me EVA definitely is the most intricate story. Plus it has its own iconic characters. Rei ayanami being one of the most popular girls around.

mine would probably be

Berserk -the history is so vast that each "why" trickles down to a number of "why"s. The plot is well thought of and the world seems to come alive once it starts to pick up @ vol 3) w00t Berserk fans! the feeling takes you from realism to fantasy

Blame! -well the story got so weird I still got lost even after reading it a couple of times.

Id agree too with berserk thoo in lieu of priority hahaha well my answers above. Blame i barely read the first few parts of it. Would you recommend it?

team pura, i totally agree with you when it comes to berserk! But I've been reading that manga for 6 years (I loved the Dreamcast and ps2 game) and the story's nowhere close to being resolved! I mean, Caska's still batshit, Guts has a spiffy new armor that screws him up every time he uses it and Griffith is still the leader of the hawks! What I wouldn't do for some answers to the whys! At least kill off some of the God hands! <sigh> The manga's moving at such a glacial pace now.

On a completely different note, serial experiments lain is a pretty convoluted anime. And so's the first ghost in the shell movie.

Higurashi no Naku - i try na ninyo, mao na pinakanindut na anime para nako ^^, well, libog kaau ni na story, daghan kaau na unanswered questions and puzzles.. pero huwata ra ninyo ang season 3, i know daghan na answer ngadto hahaha. btw, the characters are cute, but very very bloody hahahaha

I watched Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2 again. just recently. It's very complicated, especially if you are not familiar with the cyberpunk genre. Lots of weird stuff happening here and there, and you'd be pretty lost soon if you're not familiar about speculations regarding how bleak our future will be, etc.
