I think the more intelligent approach to answering this question is to address the person TEACHING the subject. I didn't like my math subjects in College, but those that I did pass, I realize one important thing--it was because the instructor was very good. So in essence, we don't really hate the subject matter, but the person teaching it, in that the said person might be totally inept at teaching the subject. I believe any subject matter is worth knowing about or listening to, provided the teacher is really good at teaching the said lesson.
