five lang usa. naa pa koy library diri. these books are authored by biblical scholars and/or archaeologists ha. mga professionals ni sila. unsa may profession anang mga pari na nag-sangyaw sa bibliya? ha?
Thanks for the list. It helps Catholics to understand more on thier religion. One word of advice for those who want to read the book/s. "keep an open mind" especially if you are a Catholic like me.

for your question: unsa may profession anang mga pari na nag-sangyaw sa bibliya?

They do have a degree. Before they can be ordained as priests, they have to undergo 8 years of formal studies consisting of a 4yr college degree course(most of them took up philosophy)then moving on to 4years more to study theology( inside seminaries). and after being ordained, they are allowed to continue studying for their doctorate degrees.

Hehehe... Careful ana na statement pre. To a christian, "keep an open mind" usually translates to newcomers interested in reading the bible. but if you venture outside their beliefs keeping an "open mind" is considered a sin.

how sure are we if the meaning of the verse is really that of what they(bible pipz) say?

ang uban question nko later nalang nko i.ask.. hihihi

Kinahanglan atong masayran nga ang Bible naglangkob (contain) usab kini ug "figures of speech".

Ibutang nato, duna koy higala nga morag kilat kakusog modagan.

    1. Matt 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. - simile
    2. Psa 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. - metaphor
- allegory
    4. 1 Cor 11: Container for the contents. Pot boils. - metonomy
    5. Pro 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. - synecdoche
    ...ug daghan pa!

Duna poy room ang literal nga pagsabot.

    Mga example na sab:
    1. Isa 40:22 - Ang kalibutan lingin.
    2. Isa 51:6; Psa 120:26; Heb 1:11 - The earth is wearing out.
    3. Lev 17:11-14 - The life of the flesh is in the blood.

A basic rule: words must be understood in their literal sense unless the context demands a figurative or spiritual connotation.
Above all as a Christian: we need the Holy Spirit

    Ang Ginoo magpanalangin kanato!

i think the problem with us is that we are so fascinated by conspiracy theories. we always try to look for hidden meanings and messages...and for what? we're just making our life unnecessarily complicated. the Bible is there for our disposal. let's take its LESSONS, not its words, literally.

  6. #66

the bible is still a great book. but what is written inside should NOT be taken literally.

  8. #68
    it should be taken logically

    and artistically sad

    with some creativitya

That's very apparent in their teachings, particularly the TRINITY - a doctrine foreign to the scriptures.

Now may I ask you what makes the Catholic Magesterium better than the Scriptures?.....

btw, they are all saying that they are guided by the Holy Spirit. Now who do you think among them is guided by the right spirit, you? Come on?
    None of those TRINITARIAN CHURCHES!

2 Cor. 11:3-4 "But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches ANOTHER JESUS whom we have not preached, or if you receive a DIFFERENT SPIRIT which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted.

2 Tim 4:4-5 " and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

so its your sola scriptura vs. the 23,000 other denominations who claim to be also sola scriptura. so what makes you think your brand of sola scriptura is right and theirs is wrong? does your bible tell you that only techfinder or techfinder's church's sola scriptura is correct?

How do you know? Is it apparent in your sola scriptura that the Trinitarian doctrine is wrong simply because you don't read it in your bible the way the trinitarians read it?

You better ask them not me. I am not catholic.

Btw, you might be interested to know that your sola scriptura is never found in your Bible neither does it say that your sola scriptura is better than the scriptures.
