    Default Red Mobile

Umobile Philippines is now Red Mobile

Several users of umobile Philippines received a call from umobile (02 981-15-00) informing them that umobile will eventually be Red Mobile.

The umobile representative said that they will be transitioning from umobile to Red Mobile (using Smart’s facilities) from November 16-20, and umobile’s services will be affected or will be not be available during that time.

They will also be delivering a new SIM card via courier replacing the umobile SIM and that the initial free load of the said SIM is 200 pesos (compared to umobile’s 100). The free 100 peso load will also continue with Red Mobile said the representative. All this free of charge.

yeah i have a umobile sim. Smart actually called me that they will be sending over a replacement sim. What I liked about umobile is that i actually could spend tjhe whole day calling abroad, conferencing calls with 6 people.. and still the load will not be deducted.. Hehehe! must be a system issue. did it a lot of times during the happy days of umobile... hopefully red mobile will be the same hehehe

I have a umobile sim. I called the customer service and was told that my sim would be replaced and I would be receiving it this coming November 22, 2008. The customer service also said they already have interconnection with other networks. I would be waiting for my new sim.

so those that got a umobile SIM does not need to re-register to get the new sim?

  6. #6
Nope. I don't think we would need to re-register. They are just going to send us the Red mobile sim with 200php load. Not bad...

Please try to call their customer service at (632)924-9999 so you can give them your address and where you want your sim to be sent.

By the way, the rates are now different from umobile. Here are the rates as I have talked with their customer service officer yesterday, November 19, 2008:
