Default Need some advice for setting up my pc (software related)

i was just seekig some advice (and probably someone who can actually program my pc) about how i should configure my pc. hardware wise, i think I'm good to go, but i was having trouble setting up windows xp and vista and how i should partitian my hdd. is it possile to trim vista to fit on 32gb hdd. i currently have 5 hdd.

1tb for storage of music/photos etc (would perfer to keep it as one partition because if i hate going over the partition and having to redo the hdd so that all the said files fill fit on the partition)

32 gb would perfer to put vista on it
250gb for install files of vista
    300gb perfer to use raid
    300gb

don;t know where to put xp.

i'm open up to suggestion if you have any

i guess my overall goal is to have 2 os that i can use all my hardware and software with. just have the convience of having 2 os...kinda like having 2 pcs in one

anyway if someone can do this for me, just text me and we can negotiate something.
    09285009033
i'd perfer to start this on saturday morning (the 22nd) because i know it can take awhile
    thanks

    heres my number : 0906 235 9742

    5 HDDs

    are all of them sata?

kindly post ur hdd models and capacity.

    >> to be sure : 2 x 300GB for RAID 0 is a fast solution a total of 600GB, 32MB CACHE ( if its a SEGATE, these are probably SATAII with 16MB CACHE each. )

kinda big for a VISTA ULTIMATE OS drive

but great for video | 3d works

    >> if ur an INTEL MOBO with Intel RAID 0+1 Matrix capability, this is a great capability to exploit
300GB Intel Raid Matrix 0 for VISTA + 300GB Intel Raid Matrix 1 for on going projects and Scratch Disk

    >> the 32gb ( an EIDE probably ) for windows XP SP3 is just great but just small volume for vista and all its apps.

    thats it.

    >> the 250GB ( an EIDE probably ) wud stay as it is. an HDD for additional SCRATH DISK or ON GOING PROJECTS DISK

    >> the 1Terra will remain its state..FILES DISK | Finished Projects DIsk

    text me lang.

    or YM : uzumakinin@yahoo.co.uk

    all my hdd are sata.

    2 300gb is maxtor diamond model 6v300f0
    1 250gb is a seagate barracuda 7200.
1 32 gb ocz sata ssd (which i wanted to use as the hdd for the os)
    1 tb samsung (i think)

mobo is a asus pn532 se sli deluxe

fyi, not really worried about the space because i have a couple external hdds
so therefore i dont want to do a strict raid 0, probably end up doing the raid 0+1

how much space can you trim from the viista install if you don;t add all the other programs (or can you put those porgrams on another partition of another hard drive?)

    wow! my jaw just drop.

    and im drooling..

    > yeah. 32gb ssd is a gud choice for OS. seek time is virtually non existent
base install for vista ultimate is about 16gb
or we may install a trimmed VISTA ULTIMATE Nvidia Edition ( i have this also )

    > 2 x 300gb maxtor diamondMax model 6v300f0 SATAII 3.0gb 16mb cache RAID 0+1
raid 0 300GB for OS XP | XP apps | VISTA SCRATCH DISK : raid 1 300GB for XP SCRATCH DISK | ongoing project

    > 250 for additional scratch disk or as it is .temp projects

    and this is it.

    sounds good

my line of work... ummm, I m a still a student. i've been getting parts from home every couple of months (lived in the US but here for school) because i've been finding some great buys. for example the 1tb hdd i purchased for about $120. the ssd drive i purchased for under $150 because of a nice rebate

the thing with vista ultimate nvidia edition...will i be able to update it ?
fyi, i have never set up a raid drive nor have i done dual boot up. last computer i built was a simple 2.4
p4 with a 120gb hdd. that was a really long time ago

the pc isn't going to be used for anything graphically intense. maybe down the road i might try photoshop and some video editing but with school i really don;t have the time to learn.
right now i have a couple of old games that i play, but main reason why i use my pc is for picture storage, music movies etc
