internet explorer remove?

hi , id like to know how to remove it? i tried to go to the directory but it doesnt erase! my o.s is xp . my browser im using is mozilla firefox! but there are times i.e just pops up! any ideas? ive scan my pc with anti spywares adwares .....none. id really love to get rid of i.e, help!

and also, IE cannot be removed... since its based on explorer...

add/remove programs, uncheck the ie from the list on the windows component. set firefox to default browser.

The only thing you can do is remove IE from the Start menu and the desktop, just like what fatsu seekenneth said. You can never uninstall IE totally, since it is already tied in to the operating system.

yes ive done it already still no luck!

IE can be removed by going to add/remove software in the control panel.. and click windows components.... UNCHECK internet explorer from the list.
