I am a big biker and i had 3 accidents already. my last was May 30, 2008 at reclamation area where a trailer cut right in front of me. but if they will require helmets na full face dapat kanang regulated dli kanang china nga even full face, mabuak gihapon on impacts.

i also don't agree on full face helmets because it is one of the causes of motorcycle accident because for the reason most of the time the bike rider could not hear his surroundings and get by car running beside him.

I am wearing a Bikers Helmet same as the one worn by CITOM HIWAY GUARDS which covers the side of the face.

I also would not agree children to back ride on a motorcycle because most of the time they dont have helmets.
yea, i agree with you sir... while i advocate the use of helmet and closed shoes for motorcycle driving i also gripe with how our gov't passes memos, rules, ordinance...
Like for this instance, the LTO seemed they lacked thorough study... They should have invited bike/motorcyle experts, riders, and professionals... Frankly the memo lacked substance... Mao they are always interpreted nga mangwartahay kay wala juy ayo ang mga memo... Murag way grado ang nibuhat...
They should have given complete helmet specs for us to use... Para klaro unsay sakto ug unsay dili...
They should have included rules prohibiting or banning the sale of sub-standard helmets... and put corresponding fines and punishment to erring sellers of such helmet!... and we may include here the sale of sub-standard modification parts for motorcyles...
They should have made it mandatory for Motorcycle Shop to give an Approved type helmet to buyers....

Haay... tungod sa kakulangan kita nalng mag-igo... Pili-on jud nato tung helmet nga maka-protect sa atu...
Kita bitaw ta anang mga professional motorcross riders, auto cross, stunt riders nga bisag mangatumba na cla in hi-speed di jud sad maunsa ilang ulo... imagina nga wa clay helmet....

The LTO AO AHS-2008-015 is ILLEGAL. There is no law whatsoever prohibiting the modification of motorcycles. There are laws that set safety standards and prohibit removal identification numbers, but NOTHING against modifications in general.

We had a brief meeting with Mayor Tomas Osmena last week (Tuesday) and he agreed. The LTO order, according to him, is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. And he is right!

As for the provision requiring a helmet, I have no problem. Anyone who rides a motorcycle should wear a helmet. Of course, not all full-face helmets are safe. Some do NOT pass safety standards. Motorcyclists should use a DOT- or SNELL-certified helmet. These are US standards, but these are found on many locally available helemts).

As for slippers: do not wear them on a motorcycle. You will regret it when your foot gets caught on something. Motorcyclists should wear closed shoes.
