hi guys i've always believed in cebu, especially in its people. i've seen great works with great potential that might have just needed a little more encouragement and motivation to express this inherent artistry that we all have. i've always believed that art should be done for the sake of art and not for any other reason. recognition or therapy and whatnot as this process usually entails, is just secondary in purpose.
i have a plan to put up a site/blog that encapsulates this value, this 'artistry' that we all embody. you could say it is patterned after post secret; but instead of mail art, it will be a collection of original poetry and prose, and art (primarily paintings, sculptures and pottery and the like if any of local artists.) senders will not be anonymous unless stated. it is not established as it doesn't have prestigious beginnings, it's still only just an idea. and hopefully with your cooperation and enthusiasm and passion, we promote art. we promote the cultures and the arts of cebu. there is no pay or national recognition or a promise of a career (lol), only self-gratification through this expression of art.
i will be asking a few people to help me develop this idea, from the design and structure to the screening of entries. i hope we could deliver this site. i am looking forward to hear from you guys! colerezubu.blogspot.com colere means to cultivate in latin and zubu is the olden term of cebu as stated in wikipedia. but it is still empty, and just waiting for your response. you will be receiving notifications if your entry/entries will be published.
