I really had some bad expectations of the movie before I watched it. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it would turn out to be. In fact, I actually enjoyed watching the film. It was a good movie for what it is. Tons of action, special FX, and big guns. It was a movie that paid more attention to the action than the story.

The movie is too much similar to Doom3, the game, in terms of environment. Pretty much the whole movie takes place inside a mars research facility without lights. It pisses me off that one character actually turned the lights on in one of the many dark rooms. Why are the lights off in the first place? And why do they rely too much on their flashlights when the lights actually light up when you turn on the switch? Anyway, it was supposed to add to the creepiness of the movie, so the lights remained off.

On the other hand, I absolutely liked the FPS fighting- especially with the pinky demon + chainsaw scene. That was really nice... and dicy. hehe. I also liked the monsters and all. It would have been better if they actually stuck with the story of the game- demons, hell, etc. But the only time this was shown in the movie was with one religious character always praying and talking about demons and stuff- still, it failed in that department.

I've watched this movie last sunday with mah emperor...it's quite good...ganahan ko kay grabe ug linubaay...but the story sucks...I haven't thought that the rock's character would become a monster at the end ...then mura ra sad jud kag nagduwa sa game kay naay scene nga ang kamot ra sa nagda ang imong makit-an...mura'g half-life or cs...ngitngit ang tanang scenes...pero grabe lang jud ang linubaay...nahan au ko...hehehehehehe...toink

If they just stuck to the original storyline (w/c is demons from hell and not genetically engineered bouillablaise), I could have watched it. I'll just spend my money then on Wallace & Gromit.
