well may i should have said "they didn't know that Cagayan Valley led the way(started) in white water rafting" which is understandable because they are foreigners but that doesn't diminshed their crediblity as an adventurer par excellence

Commercial rafting in CDO started in 1995. i.e. official license with IRF trained guides and maybe IRF accredited too...
Non-commercial/unsafe rafting started in the mid 80's in CDO , i.e. this was the rough and tumble times ....shall we say "learning the ropes"

Nag-sugod na akong mga amigo around mid 1980's pa.
Perhaps... sip-onon pa ka ani nga time
Or perhaps... sip-onon pa guihapon ka karon....

what's the fuss about that "led the way" thing, it' ridiculous they didn't get what it meant.

CDO 'led the way' for starting the whitewater rafting in Mindanao, but quality wise based on international safety standard, professionalism, general toursim potential and quality rapids it was ultimately outclassed by Davao, obviously the reason why the international magazine Action Asia chose to feature Davao over CDO understandably to address their reputation of featuring the better destinations in Asia.

CDO tourism didn't spend a single centemos "to be" featured in Action Asia magazine.
But still Action Asia recognized that CDO rapids "led the way"...

You see, CDO is not trying hard to be Number 1 when it comes to whitewater rafting and kayaking.
But still they recognized us....How BRILLIANT IS THAT!!!!

"Outclassed"? Pakita daw beh ang tsada nga Class 3 or Class 4 rapids....asa man?
Dugay na ko ani mangita pero wala gyud picture mo-tunga.
Puro lang istorya.

So, it turned out that in 2000 Cagayan Valley started the commercial rafting in this country even before CDO that started 2001 na. If this was the case then the foreign journalists must have overlooked the inaccurate info and should have mentioned Cagayan valley rather than Cagayan de oro. They should be reminded next time that by national scope Cagayan Valley started it first rather than inaccurate claims by CDO. Hasta diay Cagayan valley naligsan sa hype nila.
