Alaska - James Michener
an entire chapter devoted to tectonic plates separating and forming the north american continent. and the second chapter on ice.
'nuff said.

ever read Bob Ong? His books are good. But he has one book that definitely made it to the unrecommended list
"Alamat ng Gubat" - the humor was sooooo...... slapstick type. What the heck happened to the writer? it makes me think that his anonymity was abused. Might have given a price for it.
It was meant to be symbolical but geez.. talk about corny as the corn field.
one hundred years of solitude has so much literary craftmanship. it's the beautifully written narratives that actually make the novel more interesting than other "dialogue-packed" stories. i wouldn't unrecommend it, really.
what i would unrecommend though is THE SECRET by rhonda byrne. super duper waste of time. i was intrigued at first because the book is so sensational, so many people are talking about it, only to find out that it's nothing but a self-help book which basically only tells you to "think positive". bummer. what a disappointment.![]()
Some (mostly women I guess) will hate me for this, but the Twilight series was just a waste of time for me. I read the first two books, Twilight and New Moon, and asked myself why so many people are loving this series.
Please do not read Twilight. It's not worth it. You're better off reading Anne Rice.
