I recently saw sa TV Patrol about "Small Claims Court". It is the venue where one can file charges like anang mga utang-utang nga wa jud bayri. Small Claims kay murag mga utang nga 100K and below raman pwede i-file og kaso. Nya paspas pa jud daw ang result - mga 3 days to 1 week naa nay verdict from the judge. Perfect kaayo ni.
Although Manila man 'tong sample story nila. I just don't know kung naa naba diri Cebu.
Try daw inquire sa may Capitol.
Hope that helps.
chad : i'd suggest na mo send ka ug demand letters ani niya. These documents are needed sa court just in case mag file ka ug case Batas Pambansa Bilang 22. I used to handle these accounts sa ako giworkan, kanang mga returned checks mao mejo naa ko idea. Call me lang ...
sige will call you janz. salamat kaayo.

hi chad,
1) rejoinder ra sa mga nag suggest na ipaagi sa small claims court (under J. Seville)... this small claims court tackles civil cases (coll. of sum of money) only and not criminal cases. so if you decides to opt for the small claims court, walay kulong ana.
2) may i know when did you negotiate the check, meaning nus-a nimu gi-deposit? if you have deposited them within 90 days from the date of the checks then you can file BP 22 cases (2 counts)... if imu ni gideposit more than 90 days after the date of the checks, di naka pwede maka file bp 22.. lain na lang kaso imu i-file.... but if within ra, you can file viol. of bp 22... if you file bp 22, you need to show "actual" receipt of demand letter/s by the issuer, else ma-dismiss ra. so you have to send demand letters and keep it on your file.
second, be reminded nga under bp 22, face value ra kasagaran ang ma-award sa judge (in some rare cases x2 which is the max penalty)... but i dont see any probs there as you seems not interested in imposing penalties.. murag ang principal lang man imu gi-after nga mauli... quite admirable considering the time and opportunity lost sa iya dili pagbayad on time sa gisabutan ninyo before...
3) you can also opt to file estafa case, which is harsher and has more teeth so to speak... just get a lawyer.
all in all, you have to carefully weigh things... kung unsa mas bug-at nimu... teach the delinquent a deserved lesson and get what is rightfully and legally due to you or endure all the troubles that goes with it - time and financials (you have to pay extra filing fees both in prosecutor and the courts, plus the atty fees)... anyway ang mga expenses ma-collect man pod nimu back from the defendant/accused.
good luck!
