extreme edition processors hardly (or never) go below the 30K mark in retail prices. if you're not an overclocker, then it would be unreasonable to buy a processor born to be overclocked (if you know what i mean) (well, maybe you don't, so, processors labeled as extreme mean that their multipliers are unlocked, ergo, theoretically, easy overclocking). buy a lower clocked yorkfield instead, shrunk down by 200MHz, a better TDP, and almost half the price. Q9650 This was the QX9650 before, but with a locked multiplier.

    enjoy

amd will release octo-core chips next year, probably 2nd qtr 2009 (true multi-core architecture) codenamed "bulldozer". its also a really new design, which means totally usob gyud from current architecture. though im sure tungod kay ahead man ang intel, when that time comes, naa nasad mas ok pa sa current i7 processors...

    umiinit gyud.

certainly not sir. you're comparing the price of the "Extreme Edition" processor sir, not the mainstream version, which certainly gives more performance at almost the same price.

    cheers.
