    ^ correct. the downside is, they are now shifting to a monopoly position nasad since AMD is way behind.

    if you read the last few lines, sakto jud ang ingon sa toms hardware na intel didn't like the consumers buying processors priced at around $200 then overclock to perform like $1000 so they had the new processors programmed to automatically throttle if someone attempts the overclock.

    imho, gahi kaayo ni panaugon nga mga prices sa kani nga mga procs.

    right.

    simply put.( except for bragging rights...)

    what the use of buying a 1000++$ uberprocessor ( c2q9775 ) when u can buy a c2q 9550 2.83 @ 500$+? wherein u can overclock ur 9550 with just HSF?

    AND INTEL DOES NOT LIKE IT so much.. so they lock the multiplier..

    and saying thats it's 60%-/+ faster ( in terms of performance : www. tomshardware.com) than phenom x4, this monster had just gave INTEL another reason to dictate the rules and pricing of the chip wars.
    in another words. MONOPOLY!

    but what can we consumers do, DAMMIT is eating dust at the moment ( to those who believe otherwise, read news and reviews..im no fanboy here. )

    lets just hope the cpu green will make wonders again..

    then, i wud have a sub 5k c2q6600 ( i wud still love it as obsolete as it u wud say. )

    *Possible* Core i7 Release Date - Monday, November 17, 2008

    Whats the word on AMD's Deneb cores?
    for sure AMD will counter this one, dili ko fan sa AMD nor Intel, hate thier ugly yet good marketing strat, we all know that their capable of producing the fastest core ever but money matters comes first

    no offense to AMD fanboys, and i am not an Intel cronie, for now, nothing compares to Core i7 extreme, even Skulltrail is put to shame in some benchies, not to mention AMD's Phenom. if in the case AMD releases a processor that can touch Core i7 territory, Intel can easily launch a 4GHz Core i7, and yes, it is quite possible. i doubt if Shanghai (and it's Desktop Counterpart) can take the crown or even touch Core i7 territory. don't get me wrong, we still have to wait for the actual results. XD but as of the moment, nothing's gonna stop intel from pricing their top-of-the-line procies with uber amounts.

    cheers.

    sakto sab ang pangutana lang ana ug mobarato ba jud kaha ng c2q since nindot ug oc ky sa i7?

    kung mag games lang ka... wala ra kay makuha kaayo nga performance gains from Core2 to i7... since GPU dependent mostly mga games... but sa all other application... i7 rocks! its a monster processor...
