ill go for Powerbook G4 12" 100k+ good performance been with me for three months now no problem i bought it at Istore BTC - good service. i can use windows too via Virtual PC coz i have some programs that can only run on XP. for me its better than Ibook if price is not an issue for you; form factor and performance two thumbs up for me!!

When do you want to buy your Notebook/Powerbook??

I think you know that Apple is moving to the Intel platform in 2006/2007

with that in mind I suggest you wait it out....

once apple has already moved to the Intel chip then you can have a dual boot notebook/powerbook.... Windows Vista and Mac OS X... That would be the best....

ako, medical student pod ko and we share the same needs.. i'd go for the mac.. wlay nay time for games.. hehehe.. I use a G4 at home for computing needs other than gaming.. that is to say, surfing, photo editing, etc... and I also play games sa Mac like warcraft III and unreal 2k4.. mao ra pod hehehe.. pero in all honesty, na lingaw kog gamit sa Mac.. wla ra ko nagmahay.. My PC right now is used exclusively for gaming..

I'd go for the Mac, be diffrent sad oi.. boring na kaau ang windows laptops especially sa atong kase sa medical cmty. kay puros windows ila mga laptops!! bweh!!.. time to be diffrent.. hehehe.. in the end para nako its with the budget.. wla koy idea sa prices gyud..

wAn_eyE, have you decided what to get? Mac or PC?

if u decide to go with a PC, get a toshiba or IBM i like the build quality, im not sure sa support sa IBM in cebu. for a mac get the ibook, it has a polycarbon case, ayaw ang powerbook bati ang aluminum nila na case dali ma scratch.

the way this this thread is going, i wont be surprised if this will turn out to be flame war betwwen PC and Mac fanboys. i got a pc and mac, and i spend most of my time checking updates and patches for windows before doing actual work, recently i heard about RootKits and run RootKit Revealer and found out alot of programs that installs itself and turns invisible to the system. And thats with a router, SP2, regular windows updates, windows firewall, 2 anti-virus apps, and 3 anti-spyware programs, with no P2P and bittorrent. With the mac i just get things done. In the office i dont worry about spywares and viruses the IT department are doing a great job at it, but at home security is a big deal. So i have regular re-formats every few months.

dont get me wrong, i play games on my PC and ill always going to use a PC as long as autodesk is exclusivly windows. Its just that you should put security first before anything and be selective on what sites you are going. Always remember "With great compatibility comes great Responsibility".
