I know someone in Lexmark who was hired today and sent to the US for training 4 weeks after the hire date and cost was not an issue with them it's the productivity that a certain resource can contribute to the organization its an investment for them.

an investment, exactly. that's why you have to stay a maximum of 2 years after training abroad.

LXK HR are maybe strict on this policy because they know good engineers can be "pirated" from other tech companies. But for my friend who became a regular eventually after the training has no bond like this or whatsoever.

be wary lang people. know your rights.

BUSINESS trips do not require a bond kai sila nangayo ug tabang nimo.

TRAINING trips require ug bond kai sila man ni tabang nimo and they are investing.

So if ever any company na magtali nimo for a business trip should be questioned. DO NO SIGN if mao na inyong arrangement.

Most of the time lexmark sends people to the US under the guise of a "training" trip to beat the embassy's strict policies. However, inig abot ninyo didto business/trabaho diay. So, again, be very wary of this kai gi exploit ra mo.

also, the stay varies but the contract is the same. i.e. A person who gets sent to the states for 6months gets a 2yr contract as a person who was sent there for less than a month. Is that fair? Hardly. Kamo pa nabitin nya you are subject to the same policy as a person nga nakatagbaw didto.
