from what i knw grabe consumption ang crv but has a very nice ride.
but if sa looks captiva hehe ambot lng kaha sa ride ani.
captiva has a much better smoother ride less noise.na ka sakay ko sa ako friend nga captiva diesel maka compare ko sa ako crv 2007.layo ra kaayo ang difference .super nice ang 2008 captiva.
brand name nice ang crv, while chevy captiva is US brnd name but daewoo engine but looks nice though ambot lang kaha ang resale value......
no it hasnt got a daewoo engine!
Daewoo ISNT the same company it was before GM owned it. It is now a fully fledged member of the GM family, only the name “Daewoo” survives, all of the internal structures are different. The engineering and design departments are now run by former holden personel who have been transfered within the GM network to Daewoo to assist with the Daewoo assimilation into the GM family. The guy running the design department now is the same guy who designed the monaro and had a major hand in the VE commodore before moving to korea.
So who is Daewoo ? THEIR GM (GENERAL MOTORS)! The very exact same as Holden, Chevy, Cadillac, Vauxhall, Opel, Saab, Pontiac, etc. They are nothing more then a sub-unit of GM now, they bare no resembelance to the old daewoo
The captiva is exactly the same as any other GM product, it was built by GENERAL MOTORS, not daewoo, daewoo is just the name on the outside of the building. the only reason the other products holden imports from korea arent up to scratch, such as the barina, epica and viva, is because these designs are cars which where designed by the OLD daewoo before GM took it over, theres only so much you can do with a dud design. But the captiva is completely new and built by GM, just as the next generation barina, epica and viva will be, and all of those cars by the way will be built of opel platforms from europe, and they will be much much much better then the current offerings and WILL actually be up to scratch with the rest of the market
This isnt a car built by daewoo then sold to holden, this is a car built by GM and sold under different names in different countries.
Personally ive driven both cars, check the hood, kicked the tires and stuffs and i have to give it to the new captiva as the winner,, engine wise ,power and road handling and features! true GM quality.its almost as big as santa fe very spacious!
ride it test it and prove me wrong.
though 1 thing i can comment is if their spare parts readily available ?but then again there's alot of chevrolet outlets nowdays so maybe spare parts arent that hard to find.
From what i know before it was just the badge (GM) was put on a daewoo. I had an optra and it screamed daewoo all over it, body, interior was exactly like a daewoo. Even looked at the parts and they said daewoo. My opinion it is a Daewoo with a GM badge.
Resale on GM cars are horrible and the parts are NOT readily available (always have to be ordered in Manila) so that is something to consider if you're not going to keep it for the long haul.
Looks wise, it's a good looking SUV with a lot of goodies but after owning an optra and having the problems that i had with it, I don't think i'll ever touch another GM car.
I'd rather go for a Santa Fe, CRV (gas guzzler) or Even a Sorento
sauna na apil bya ni sa amu choices ang captiva. then we settled to another car nlng dili nlng suv hehe mahal man gud mga suvs. for me vote ko sa captiva. err never liked honda service mangud, just my opinion.
Hondas are good but from what I hear ang CRV karon nga bag-o pwerti mo la^la^ ug fuel. Imong 1 ka litro i limugmug ra kuno tuyok tuyuk ining ciudad. I happened to spoke to a guy in the same school where my kids study kay captiva man iyang gi service iya mga kids while I have a Santa Fe. Ingon siya ang pure city driving is 9-10 km/ltr. And the good thing is engine noise inside the cabin is as good as the Santa Fe.
The engine was designed by a european company VM-motori. And they have quite a good reputation in diesels.
Ang problema lang lagi kay wa ta kahibalo ining spare parts availability nila kay mao gyud ni pirme reklamo.
If you are not so concerned about the resale value, give a captiva a thorough consideration.
