We all want what we can't, or shouldn't, have. The right one would be the honor student with the open parents and the cute smile. The wrong one would be the girl you KNOW destroyed your friend's emotions and ripped him a new hell. There's a point in the cycles of ego in which men believe they are better than their friends in this matter. It may not be true, but the need to stroke that ego is heavy. And the need to prove to one's ego that he CAN conquer the unconquerable is subconsciously more important than what's right.
