Well, it's also interesting to note that 12mbps is just not that much feasible with cable internet. And the further your distance is from your ISP, the lesser this speed gets. You can play around the 5-6mpbs spectrum, 12mbps is just theoritical at best.

Plus (although not related to speed anymore) the fact that security has always been something to consider when getting cable internet... mainly because of the nature of its "shared" infra.

cable internet here in the phils is not stable enough para maka maintain sa speed, maybe because we're just using sub standard cables and remote terminals here are..no comment. ive been using roadrunner lite in the US and it really is fast compared to what my friend's 2MB package here.

cable internet is faster than DSL IF you dont have much competition in your area.... in other words... if 100 more kabouk in close proximity using cable net.. then mu lag jud mo... but if dili kaau daghan then kusog2x jud na ang cable... next problem is the cables... you will see how g.taod ang cables diri sa pinas... maski unsa pana ka kusog naa jud na %lost due to cables + cables nga palpak pagka taod dako2x jud %lost...

take for example PLDTDSL... awa na ila cables... palpak kaau pagka taod nag gutay2x nlng na sa poste ilang wires... ilang terminals cge ra ka basa... ilang terminals pa jud if imo tanawn sa sulod binuang pagka connect ang wires... mura rag g.papiltan... and PLDT DSL sells bandwidth that they DO not have... they sell too much not thinking of the load which their gateways can take..

its like having a pipe where allowable flow is 200sqft. but as PLDT sells more flow which they can not provide the pipe which only allows this much would have a flow x2 of its allowable flow... mao na mag huot...

mao ra ghapon cguro na inig sikat sa skybroadband... much more pa... kay cable is good but once in 1 simultaneous min mag ka dungan mo og log sa neighbors nnyu with sky pd waaaaaaa nlng inyu ma sulti.. ive tried this before i had a 8mbps connection w/ a cable provider in singapore... which i ddnt know that almost every floor of the apartment bldg had the same provider.. lag pa sa lag ako na kuha during peak hrs

niadto ko sa skybroadband mandaue karon lng na day. using 2wire.com speed test around 600kbps ~ 700kbps+. while my smartbro using the same 2wire.com is 399 kbps. mura katunga lng ang bandwidth ghatag nila sa subscriber instead ug 1.5Mbps 700kbps nlng. nya nagpalit sila ug ISP sa Bayantel. nag distribute lng sila. karon nag duha2x ko balhin sa ila ky mura hinay gihapon. although using speetest.net moabot ra ug 1.02MBPs ang download speed.

    what you think guys?
