What lovebirds are we talking of; the parakeets or the african lovebirds? both are very common birds among aviculturist being very prolific breeders. My advise are as follows;
1. Cage - before buying birds make sure you already have a good and strong cage. Rule of thumb the birds must be able to fly without their wings touching the cage and the bigger the better.
2. Stocks - your best option is to buy from reputable bird breeders, be warry of petstores and traders coz they might sell you the not so good stocks. Try to visit aviaries to check how the breeders take care of their birds, then decide where to purchase your pet.
3. Grains and seeds - select and buy only the clean and fresh seeds. also give your birds fresh vegetables about 2 to 3 x a week. Kangkong will do.
4. Patience - once you've done all of the above stand back and enjoy your birds, time will come that they will start to produce chicks.

Lisud tanawon ang bird if tigulang na or bata pa, thats why i recommend that you go to reputable breeders because di man ka nila ilaron and if masipyat willing man sila mo-ilis. African lovebirds have 2 most common specie in the aviculture the peachface and the eyerings, they usually mature at around 8 to 12 months and they start to breed also by that time. You are also welcome to join the Cebu Avian Society there you will get more insights on how to breed and take care of your birds.

up lang pud.... ganahan sad pud ko mo buhi ug budgies kay affordalbe ra niya wala pa jud ko knowledge unsaon pag alaga ug birds...wala pa jud ko ka buhi ug birds bisag ka usa ky dili mo sugot ako papa ky luoy daw tan awon ang birds isulod ug cage pero wala ko kabaw unsa iya nakaon na mo sugot na xa karon,,hehehe,,,pa salamat lang ko...actually ngpa buhat nko ug 3ftx3ft na cage niya ni ok ako papa..hehe

mao sad akoa.. bro.. afrcan sad unta akoang target,,mag buhat sa ko ug cage..naka try nmna sad ko ug pigeon alaga.. bro sa probinsaya...murag mas sensitive man gud ang lovebirds sa akong tan.aw,, sa una naa ko lovebirds,, gidulaan man sa akong mga ig.agaw so nakalupad ang usa.. den so ako nlng gi buhian.. lain man gud tan.awun usa lng siya...

ahh ok...pero sa ako nabasahan ky ok rman ug 1 ra bsta pra pet imo purpose but kung also for breeding ky off course 2 jud kbuok...hehehe...unta mka palit nko next week ug pair....ú
