i usually find character actors and comedians underrated:
Alan Rickman - the villain in Die Hard, and we all know him in the Harry Potter series
Micheal Jeter (dec) - Elmo's friend "Mr. Noodle's brother, Mr. Noodles" of Sesame Street who also had supporting roles in The Green Mile, Patch Adams, Jurrassic Park 3. But i can always remember him as the singing bum transvestite in the Fisher King
