Davao's Ayala project is now under construction meanwhile there were no official statement yet as to when CDO will even begin preliminary stage. Except lang their CDO mayor giunhan pa any official statement sa Ayala (I wonder how the Ayala's reacted to such rude move) suddenly gapahambog nga much larger kuno than Davao's ang Ayala CDO at P4.5 Billion. But he will have to eat his own words because it turned out Davao's Abreeza budget may actually reach P5 Billion considering it will incorporate two IT/BPO buildings. Research made by Ayala's also show that the Davao's consumer market is higher at about a fifth of population than Cebu's at 16%.

On the other hand the much hyped LKK's twin towers in CDO nga sa karon pa lang gapahambog na nga theirs would be the tallest in mindanao, may (again) have to eat their words because right across Abreeza are also plans for twin tower investment, except that it's deemed higher than LKK's.

Im from CDO, its nice to know all of these plans. But I hope it will become a reality soon. I found Cebu way back 2001 and how I wish I was already here earlier in '96. I fell in love with Cebu right away than my home town CDO and these are the reasons why:

    1. Cebu has wider roads, less traffic congestions / CDO small roads, lots of traffic congestions
Imagine, My place is in Carmen, and going to DV soria should take only 5 mins. but bec. of the bottled neck bridge it will take you 30mins and worse an Hour! They built other bridges, and it took them more than 5 years to finally build it. and worse, I find it not so effective. Carmen bridge should be rebuilt to a 4 or even a 6 laner bridge.

    2. Imagine that almost all jeepneys in CDO runs fast like the talamban jeepneys. Patag liners, LKKS jeeps, Lapasan Jeeps. I am exagerating this because they really run fast, you've got to hold on the handle bars. Dili pa gani kahibalo manukli! So better ask for your change always!

    3. I heard ayala project before will be located somewhere in Bulua and now infront of Gaisano City? Thats crazy because it will certainly congest the small road! and with the motorela onsight (motorela is CDOs unique 4 wheel passenger vehicle using a motorcyle so dili cya tricycle bec. it has 4 wheels) they're an eye sore!

    4. Hanjin project is discontinued because of . . . hmmm

    5. Laguindingan international airport? ah, the plan started in 1994 pa, until now wheres the airport? and if they have started this already today, again, please improve the road going there! A 4 laner road is not enough!

Now they plan a city with in a city, what are they trying to emulate, the Vatican? With the small roads of Macasandig I think they have to remodel their roads first before building something like that.

Wow twin towers! Where in the area will they build such? As far as I know, CDO is below sea level so if your building a tall tower, it will certainly collapse. As far as I can remember, the city gov't would only allow up to 8 or 10 floors only. I would believe it if they will construct it where SM is since its on a plateau (dili intawn bukid, para sad sosyal paminawon hehehe)

In fairness, what nice in CDO is the cool breeze (pwerteng inita jud diri sa Cebu) the fruits, veggies and fishes there are all I miss. Barato and fresh! and oh I miss climbing Mt. Kitanglad in bukidnon, the 2nd highest Mountain in the Philippines.

Did you know that Ayala Mall "Abreeza" was having a tough time for their mall to be approved in Davao City? Davao City council had to make sure that traffic congestion in the area where the mall is to be built had to be taken cared of. Also, the drainage system is also being planned properly in order to avoid flooding once the establishment is to be erected.

Really, for CDO to catch up Davao's progress in terms of juicy investments they have to plan necessary infrastructures first and put CDO city in order.

IMO here are what Davao did why it became a progressive city.

    1. Cleanliness - waste management facilities
    2. Traffic - road widening, flyovers, traffic lights, pedestrian overpasses and strict implementation of traffic rules.
    3. Water Supply
    4. Power Supply
    5. Drainage System
    6. Beautification - Landscaped roads, Parks (People's Park, Magsaysay Park etc.)
    7. Strict implementation of city ordinances
    8. Good governance
    9. Proper zoning
    11. Peace and order (effective police force, 911 facilities)
    12. International airport
    13. International seaport
    14. Educational institutions for building human resources
    15. Medical facilities
    16. Plus a good breed of disciplined and hardworking Dabawenyos.

That's a recipe for success in Davao, and now MRB condominiums, malls, resorts, hotels, BPO's and other investments from outside or inside Davao is sprouting everywhere. Because, Davao makes it sure its conducive and attractive for investors to operate business.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit cdo's Alegria Hills developed by the Ayala's... mostly horizontal developments pa....

Maybe, at this moment Ayala is still positioning in that area (via landbanking).... a large scale vertical development in cdo at this time may not be feasible ---> reason? -->No market to support it..... but maybe years from now the market will be there.... and that's good news to mindanao

    Wishful thinking.

But yeah it might if happen if they'll submit their request to GMA's 'Wish Ko Lang' program.

CDO doesn't have the right recipe yet for further development and progress. They should take a look at Puerto Princesa on how they're doing it for I believe this is the only mid-size city that can rival Davao in terms of progress and quality of living in the future.

Sorry CDO peeps, i'm just stating a fact...I don't mislead and don't lie as there's nothing in it for me anyway.

it's funny how people rant about the advances of their city/hometown like did something to make those advances happen. they fight over a petty subject when one needs to do is to appreciate and support. who cares if plans in cdo didn't realize, why does davaoenos' (and wherever in this country you may come from) balls sore when they hear such dev't updates? we're all tax-payers in this country and sore-residents who continually complain about the shortcomings of every public thing in a city. grow-up!

but CDO is CDO, kung wala pa'y chance mo develop, kanus-a paman? Mao gani naay taas kaayo nga hotel ga e tukod sa CDO.. Para mo sunod dayon ang ubang investor. This is the start of the development of CDO. Ibalhin man gani ang Municipal Hall some place else..

And Ayala is slowly being built dinha sa Indahag dapit, wherein makita ang sight sa SM, right across the mountain.
