this crooked system of injustice only proves that in the philippines, when you do wrong, do it big time so you'll get off the hook.

anyway, the real justice is not here but during the end of days. we can only pray for the hultmans and the rest of the people who are victims of grave injustice.

let's face it , life is unfair. kadtong duol sa luwag mao gyud ang ma-una. as long as it was done in due process bisan naa pa'y favoritism, wa gyud ta'y mahims.

the symbol of justice nagkupot lage sa timbangan. pero she is a Goddess in the likeness of us humans. there's also the meaning there. coz if not, timbangan nlng ang naa unta walay tawo or goddess.

"The constitution of our country is not the law of our land. That which is fair and just is rarely simple. The constitution is not the law, but the heart of the law, the principals from which the laws are derived. The real “law of the land” is the Legal Code. In a democracy, the law will never be simple. Different groups and people will require compromise and specification. Which means volumes, rather than pages of law.

You will hear constant statements such as “The Constitution guarantees certain rights”. And that, dear readers, is bullshit. The constitution is lovely piece of old paper. Next time your rights are being violated, call out to the constitution. See if it sprouts little parchment legs and comes running to your defense, a musty musket clutched to its flat, printed breast. The constitution is a symbol. It is not the symbol of justice which makes justice, but just men and women.

Teehankee was granted his pardon not by the Constitution in a little glass box but by the work of his hands and the humanitarian spirit of those men and women who effected justice.

(those are borrowed words from Ronin of the Spirit)

    -------------------------------------------

The Hultmans did not object when asked about the possibility of giving Mr. Teehankee pardon, and the Hultmans thought there was remorse on [his] part,” Ermita told reporters.

He said this was a “major factor” in Ms Arroyo’s decision to grant clemency to Teehankee.

Teehankee and the others were pardoned “because they had complied with the regulations and processes undertaken by the Board of Pardons and Parole.”

People are singling out Mr. Teehankee when he was one of the 292 prisoners [granted clemency], Dureza said.

“I hope the media will write about the 291 others,” he said.

I wonder if the other 291 people pardoned committed a crime as heinous as his?

First was Estrada(plunderer), second was Jalosjos(child rapist) and now Teehankee (teenage murderer), who's next? The common denominator, aside from the fact that all of them are convicted criminals, of course its Politics. Its what they call, for the lack of the term "Bayad Utang".

That's what we get from a cheat president.
