I don't know what actually happened out there and there is no way of knowing who tells the truth. But in my opinion paying the blood money is another case of bad decision by the AFP.

As if they are following the strategy done by the US forces in Afghanistan: offering blood money everytime somebody claims that a civilian was killed. I dont think that strategy work at all...they just open another door for the opportunist to capitalize. Without the gun and the fatigue uniforms...everybody is a civilian. You can figure out what will happen next.

War is cruel but it is sometimes a necessary evil. In our case it is needed to eliminate MILF, MNLF, AbuSayyaf and NPA. I believe war is needed in those parts of the country to attain peace. They should have used the money to buy ammunitions and bomb the hell out of those rebels. As for the casualties? Well, that's the reality of war....at one time millions of lives were lost just to make the world in order.
