    @ LYT ....

I dont really know why when in fact the course BSND ( Nutrition and Dietetics ) was offered by USC since the 70's but its not really that popular as a choice of a career pero is a very in demand field in the health care community also .

OT : For starters .... ang ND dili lang sa hospitals and clinics attending the patients nutrition and diet but also caters CLIENTS who are into FITNESS , SPORTS , CONSULTANCY and many more that involves FOOD , healthy food that is .

My auntie is a nutritionist at an NJ hospital, hayahay pud iyang work. I look at her ug wala'y stress makita sa iyang face, compared sa uban nakong mga aunties nga nurses nga everytime mag storya mi, reklamo nga kapoy kaayo ang trabaho.

But if you are a nurse ug gusto gyud ka mag work sa States, try to work in a doctor's office. Ayaw sa hospital. Nurses working in doctor's offices have the good life. They work 8-5 Mondays-Fridays, some doctor's offices open ra ug half-day sa Fridays.

Also, kanang Physician's Assistants ai, hayahay pud. They make a lot of money, about 110-120k/yr. Ambot unsa'y kurso ana, ug naa ba na sa Pinas...but I think it's a 4-yr course in the US.

Are you referring to those people nga moprescribe pud ug meds?

@Lyt, any idea where to apply for a pharmacist to work in the US?

Physical therapy .... kani kay lawgaw na kaayo . One cant become a LICENSED PHYSICAL THERAPIST ithout its MASTERS after 2004 I think .

Anyone interestd in the field of NUTRITION and DIETETICS ? That would the NUTRITIONIST and DIETICIANS . Very much in demand both in the US and in EUROPE . Median annual salary is around 65K for starters . The good thing ... after finising the course in USC , you can fly to the US and take up the STATE BOARD EXAMS to be licensed . Kana if you can go to the US anytime you want to otherwise just like any other health care providers , look for an employer who can sponsor .
Springfield, I think physician's assistants make more money than pharmacists, at least that's what salary.com tells me. Anyways, lisod makakuha ug H1B visa kung sa pharmacy field ka, coz most big drugstore companies (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid) won't sponsor you for H1B until you pass the FPGEE (comparable to the CGFNS kung sa nurse pa), and the FPGEE is a test you can take only in the US, unlike the CGFNS nga naay test locations outside the US. So ang ending, kinahanglan lang gihapon ka mopasar sa tourist visa para maka take sa test. Also, if you are a pharma grad after the year 2003, a 4-yr BS degree is not accepted na sa US...so for new grads in Pinas, you need to get an additional MS degree.

Yup, physician's assistants (and nurse practitioners in some states) can prescribe meds. Mura ra pud sila doctor, they have DEA registration and everything. In most cases, when you go to a doc's office, you'll be seen by the PA rather than the doctor. And I had a bad experience with a PA once. She tried to draw blood and couldn't even find my freakin' vein, she tried every site possible for 15 long minutes before she finally gave up. IMO, if you earn 120k/yr, you need to at least know how to perform very basic tasks that most med techs would have no problem doing.

@ DOROTHEA ... last time I checked which is about a year or two , based on MEDIAN SALARIES , indeed REGISTERED PHARMACIST'S makes the most next to the DOCTORS . If you make 110 K to 120 K annually , thats a DOCTOR's pay na sis . Nobody makes that much , even my friend who is a PRIVATE CONTRACTED PHYSICAL THERAPIST who works for the OAKLAND RAIDERS outside sa mga PHYSICIAN's and that rate is for the regular physician , mga physician na siya na wala pa mga SPECIALTIES like ANESTHESIOLOGIST and BRAIN SURGEONS as an example .

Here are some data's I gathered from the net . It might not be OFFICIAL but just a guideline to forcast the MEDIAN AVERAGE SALARY .

Thanks for the info, Springfield. That is very good to know. Although I do know PAs who earn much more than the median, I failed to notice nga imong post is all about median salaries diay.

Bro, kung kahibaw pa lang ko mo post ug link dire nag post nako. Hehehe. I was looking at the latest salary surveys at salary.com, and thought you might need to update your info on doctors. They make much more than 120k/yr...median is naa sa 150k-160k.

Actually ... you might be right considering that PA is been in that field for more than 20 years as to what the links suggested . RATE of EXPERIENCE also is a big factor .
