what ebook readers do you specifically want? if you just want to read ebooks in various ubiquitous formats like pdf, lit or mob you can do that with most PDA's and PDA-phones that are out today. On my symbian device I really go for Mobipocket due to it's clear and crisp fonts. On my Windows Mobile device I opt for the Microsoft Reader for those .lit ebooks and Adobe Reader LE for pdf formats. Sometimes I use my psp to read ebooks in pdf format especially when they are not "tagged" pdf's. The widescreen is really great but sometimes it hurts the eyes after 2-3 hours of reading. On my iPhone i just use Air Sharing - and app which reads various file formats like .doc, .pdf, .txt and jpegs. The pinching and zooming features of the iphone are great for reading comics. On a Palm device, I would recommend eReader above all.
Sometimes reading on an LCD screen really hurts our eyes. One of the best way to read digital content and ebooks are on e-ink devices like the Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, the Cybook and many other e-ink devices. But these devices are really expensive and I doubt if we can get them here locally.
If you are a heavy reader like me but is low on budget, reading on LCD screens is the way to go.
So, share your experiences in this thread, and maybe we e-book lovers can help each other out!
