you only need your wireless broadband router and of course your laptops should have wifi too... you don't need to buy a wifi card for your desktop.

    1) Make sure that your router has "wireless mode" turned on
    2) If you are using encryption make sure that your router and your clients (laptops) are using the same key
    3) Make sure that your router and clients use the same wifi standard (ie: Wireless-G, B). In other words, make sure that they are compatible
    4) Make sure that they are in the same IP Block (just set your clients to obtain IP thru DHCP and make sure that you have enabled "DHCP Server" in your router)

should you need "more help" kindly pm me.

scarab, a Wireless G Router is an Access Point with a built-in router... and an Access Point is just that ^_^

scarab: in addition to master Beor, wireless G router is an access point and dsl router in one. The Wireless G access point is purely a device that will connect your wireless clients to your wired network.

Zira: your SSID (Service Set Identifier) must be the same in all your wireless desktop and laptops.

@scarab: small office routers may have the same basic functions. Different brands will just vary on the features that they add to the unit.

Just check what is best for your needs and budget. You can start evaluating Linksys or 3Com. Better yet, check the computer shops. They might provide you alternative brands at lower cost.

Ang procedure sa ako is to run setup while connected to dsl modem, iyang subayon ang mga protocols, then iyang ipataud ang router in between the desktop and Dsl modem, human ok na. PPoe ang connection, suwat lang ang user name ug password sa DSL.
