Default tribute to a great student leader

Rachelle Mae Palang was a great student leader and writer. she just graduated from Velez College and just passed the National Nurses Board Exams.

i never thought that death would come too soon to claim her...

on September 18, 2008 in Negros she was brutally killed by agents of the Armed forces of the Philippines. She volunteered to join in a fact finding mission / medical mission to help the people of Western Visayas.

the thing is she was doing a job that was in the interest of the people. But in lieu of her sevice to communities her life was snuffed by a bullet from a soldiers gun. A soldier of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Now this is strange. because the AFP has claimed that they are protectors of the people? then why her death. worst is that she was even tagged as a rebel just to justify her death.

"Rachelle could have chosen a different path. A path that could have led to a comfortable life for her and her family. But she chose the path less traveled. The path of suffering just so others would live comfortable lives. A path of selfless devotion and service to the people."

are you a military man? GOD you sound like my dad and aunt!!!

it like this... how would you ever know if its a front? what your saying is just a hear say.
unya nakaapil na man sad ko sa med missions and shes a personal friend. so does that mean im a communist? unya how would you even know if ur not a member.

from this i say that you are subjective about things.

wasi-watok dapat diba? ay wa kakita dapat dili magtabi... wasi-watok. wehehehehe.

rache has chosen her path. a path less travelled. a path i know you would never even dare try. aw oo if you also ask her family tama they mourn but they respect her decision.

Ipahinungod ngadto kang Rachel, Jerry, ug Edong

    Unang Alay

    Unang alay, unang tuwa
    Unang mithiin, unang alay
    Unang alay ay buhay
    Sa kinabukasan.
    Ang kalayaan ay nakaburol
    Na may korona sa magdamag
    Walang tinig maging ang simoy
    Sa kanyang pagdalit ng habag.
    Huwag pagupo sa dusa
    Huwag pagapi sa hapis
    Harapin natin ang bukas
    Nang may pananalig.

    Unang alay, unang tuwa
    Unang mithiin, unang alay.

@ radio star,,so your are part of lfs group,,you didnt even answer some of my question..you've seems to avoid the obvious answer to the question i ask sir.,,you ben to medical mission?why not in cebu? some mountain barangays in cebu needs your help.why in bohol, negros, leyte? part those place are rebel infested area..?does is needs to be 3months for a medical mission to complete.?

the cause you mention only exist to you and your group coz ur are blind by those cause, and you make other youth blind also..how can you justify that your CAUSE can change the life of the poor when your cause makes them even poorer,,you only conduct medical mission to farmers..what about they others?

military don't make false statement.they base there statement on evidence,,maybe its your group that make false accusation to the military.remember a certain marvin who died in an encounter with the rebels in bohol?how come they are there? wrong place at the wrong time..maybee..i beg to disagree,i for once a student and military did not tag me as a rebel? why because i do things in the normal way not in a rebel way,,and not in an lfs way..

for sure, she did not die for no good reason at all. she had a purpose. people should not say they are "misguided souls"... coz they are definitely not.

how sure are you that what the military says are always true? there are lots of things happening inside the military. they are even rumored to be helping the MILF or the Abu Sayyaf. but as always, it could not be proven. coz they are the ones still in charge of the whole operation down there.

you were once a student, in other words you are now an adult... an adult who is now a victim of the soicety that has come to accept what is conventional to the majority.

today's generation can actually see what's happening to the society that they could not accept as we have the hope for a change. it may sound idealistic. but if no one will make the change, who would be? you?

she could have been part of a group who fights for the people's rights, but should she really be tagged as NPA? we have our own ways of standing up for our principles. she had hers. no one should question that.

Sus! mao nay nakalabad ninyong mga grupoha mo kay gahi kaau mo ug ulo. Ug sa economy pa na ang inyong EGO nag bubble economy. You believe what you are doing is right? Hell NO! you are just making the situation worst!

Somebody posted here that this is already the 21st century and armed struggle no longer fit this time...so cut it off. Sige pa mog pailad ni JOMA nga tua sa Netherlands nagpahayahay. Bright man kaha ang mga miyembro sa inyo na group so you better use it in better ways other than what you are doing right now.

Helping the poor pa kunohay..ayaw kog ilara kay I have seen it in my own eyes and heard it in my own ears when I was in the mountains of Ayungon and Mabinay. What we were doing there was the a legit NGO related activity in a rebel infested area. Unfortunately, this educated egoistic-brainwashed students from the lowlands were also the people who brainwashed the non-educated poor farmers/people in the uplands. How do you call that fair? Our government thru NGOs were trying hard out of the limited budget to help the poor constituents but all the effort could sometimes go to waste because this good students and graduates from big universities are there to twist their minds. Call that service to the poor? Tell it to the marines.

Once again been there, seen it, heard it. So CEGP, LFS, ANAKBAYAN....SHUT-UP! you are more of a liability than of a help.
