So basically, the incident above, the news item about that woman dying in a hospital due to negligence--that's all normal. What a great, and wonderfully normal world we live in, no?

Dili ba naa ma'y theory ani sa sociology? There was this experiment wherein they made this guy lie in a sidewalk where there's lots of passers by. The guy was pretty conspicuous... At first everybody ignored him. Eventually a person had the sense to approach him and inquire whether he was alright. Soon a few pedestrians approached, and the guy was helped.

Siguro through the experiment they found out that we seem to have this "herd mentality" nga when we see someone lying on the street, for example, and nobody's paying any attention to that person, we seem to think nga okay ra na siya kay mura'g wala ra man sad ang uban. Pero if naa na'y isa ka tao o duha nga maka-notice niya og muduol, diha pa ta mu-get out of our way and think, "Hey, this guy's in trouble."

But the incident in the news took place inside a hospital, so it's expected that the health care personnel should've immediately attended to that patient.
