Default To all NVIDIA FAN and USERS check ur MCP!

    What is MCP?
MCP stands for Media Communication Processor.

To all nvidia users and fan....hows ur MCP temperature? did u check it already?

Use everest latest version at Lavalys - Comprehensive IT Security and Management then see your MCP temperature.

I had a bad experience yet a good learning about my nvidia thing. I got a mobo with a nvidia chipset and PCIE videocard also nvidia chipset 8500GT, I got a high hot MCP temperature...but I got a good remedy added some auxiliary fan below inside the case...and it works well it drops the temperature down to 60C-68C. Before I got 70C-80C.

Check if ur using ur builtin videocard nvidia chipset you can probably see ur MCP temperature using everest. 50C-60C normal for builtin. But when it goes higher you have to do something before it burns ur chipset.

If ur using a PCIE videocard and then your MCP will go higher...check ninyo.

    Post it here..thanks

PASSIVE bro..hehehe ok ra daw na basta passive....ang limit sa MCP temperature kay 100C...or even higher
so no worries I talked to nvidia support and its normal especially u have passive videocard and passive chipset w/c I have.

So sa imoha active all? from mobo chipsets? to videocard?

active ang vcard, passive ang chipset. bot pila temps aning chipset, di man sad ni ma OC so wa nalang ko mo-bother.

Mao man tingali ni ang southbridge for NForce chipset the MCP. Sa Intel conterpart is ICH9.

Ur right bro... so check lang inyo temps kay for me concern lang ko kay mas ni init ron panahona than last year.

    9600GT factory OC

    without front intake : idle = 58c load = 72c

    with drive bay front intake : idle = 52c load = 62c

Sak2 ka...pero when ur temp goes higher its because sa room temperature na mo vary jud na cya.

And one thing naa deperensya sa PASSIVE and ACTIVE when it comes to MCP temperature coz sa karon nga PC generation in also in my case ang southbridge and northbridge gi sagul nila sa manufacturer see

M2N-MX SE Plus ASUSTeK Computer Inc. thats my mobo ang prob niya if ako gamitan ug PCIE videocard mas mo taas iya MCP temp pero dili gani builtin lang ok ra normal temp ra.

Kay ang sa kani nga mobo ma tabunan jud sa videocard ang iya chipset so mas init sya labi na passive imo gamiton init jud kaayo pero its normal no worries.

In your case the MCP controls the PCI-e bus the memory controller is already built inside the processor as a feature for Athlon 64 processors. You only have one chipset no south or north. You only have the MCP. Well I can say you have lesser heat problems.
My only suggestion is more airflow inside your case. In this case you already found out.
Anyway mine have north and south bus or the X38 and the ICH9. Both have temperatures of 39c and 41c respectively.
