i'm a user of hp 2133 and I really like it, especially the keyboard though it is much expensive compared to asus...

let me just start with what i like:
    1. small, handy and light weight especially for me since im a still a student and frequently on the go
    2. for a small computer, audio is good and satisfying when playing music at moderate volume
    3. love the free sleeve since the laptop is soo small, you might have a hard time finding one to protect it
    4. nice finishing. shiny gloss and solid texture

    what i dont like? wel...

    - 4gb? you gotta be kidding.. (and its not EXACTLY 4gb! only more or less 3.5gb) windows XP is approx 1.5gb. that leaves you only 2gb. MS office is about 700mb. plus browsers and anti virus.. not to mention all the other apps for everyday use. what i had left? was only 600mb after installing the OS, MS office, browsers (mozilla, safari), itunes, McAfee, FoxIt reader. THATS IT!

    - speed? freakishly slow! i time it after a FRESH format of OS? about 4minutes and 28 seconds. yes, maybe McAfee may be a little too heavy for it but without an optical drive you really have to protect your laptop from viruses and etc hence, you will be wasting your OS! MAYBE others using a different anti virus software may say otherwise. but never the less, speed is really slow. opening basic apps such as MS Word takes a significant amount of time to open

    - screen resolution? soooo pixelized! and what the heck is that graphic enhancer? it didn't do anything to it! all it does is change your view when you move up or down. it does NOT enhance your resolution! watching dvd copy videos was like watching one of those hidden camera movies!

    - yeah i know i said earlier on the audio was good at MODERATE volume and during music play. but on videos? you can actually hear cracks along the way. PLUS at max volume? speakers cant catch up with the bass

    - battery life? for a small laptop? ironic it consumes the battery just as fast as a 15.4" laptop can. only 2-3hours of usage. 1.5-2hrs on wifi. plus the irritating heat under when used after a while.

    - speaking of which, wifi aint so good. sensitivity or range of the wifi radio is not soo good. pair it side by side with another wifi device, the other gets better signal and can detect the signal much quicker than the eee pc.

    - keyboard? please! i dont have big hands but dam.. really cramped.

well.. this is just what i think.. some may have a different experience with the said laptop. but personally? even with the EEE PC 900 or 901 out? i dont see MUCH difference between the two.

thats why i got the HP Pavillion Mini Note 2133 Windows Vista Bussiness edition. the BETTER comparison of the Asus EEE PC. im NOT advertising since HP did NOT pay me to say all this. i just want those who are planning to get one to think better prior to buying.

the HP Mini is great. and you can actually go beyond the "basics" with it.

but again, THIS IS JUST WHAT I THINK.. Might vary from others..

    Good Day!!

yeah! i'm also a user of hp 2133 and i really recommended it to my officemates because it is good and my expectations are met...Though, asus is much cheaper compared to hp 2133...But asus is also good but I think hp 2133 is better...

Try to think of it...the eee pc 701 has only 4gb space so better use the Nlite XP.
The XP Pro eat a lot of space that's I have Maxtor external drive it has 160GB for my useful applications & games. Others use SD cards to save their other application there which is more cheaper.
But before I used portable applications that can be installed to your USB sticks.
This stuff can be installed on any portable drive, i.e. USB thumbdrive, PDA or an iPod. You can use them at work, school, or any other place where you can plugin your device.
Check this link its for free guys...

    Here's my lappy...

guys i hope you will open your minds that these umpc/NETBOOKS are not for heavy usage. This is for the light net warrior who will use it as a secondary lappie for just browsing and some light office work. That's why in the first place it came with the light OS UBUNTU or other linux platform.
To be able to install XP nlited is already an added capability but note that the first gen eepc 401/surf/4G/8G were not meant for xp. That's why asus made way for the 900/901 with better specs to run XP.

As for the HP mini, its bound to be slow on vista as its specs just reach that minimum requirements. While ergonomically it is pleasant and very eye candy, its performance lag behind the newer ASUS eeepc 901/1000H.
