Naa koy kaila lawyer who knows nothing about forums and stuff. I asked her if she has already appeared in a court in CDO. She said yes. Then I asked her how she finds the place. She has ALL PRAISES for the place. A bit small, but progressive nonetheless. Without leading her further into the conversation, she immediately said na isa lang yung ayaw nya sa CDO: the condescending attitude of its people towards Davao. Basta madunggan taga Davao, murag malahi dayun ang pagtagad.

This is not an isolated observation. I can relate endless stories about digusting behaviors of people from CDO towards Davao.

I have my personal sotry to tell. I was recently in a business trip in a generally Tagalog speaking province. When the security guard of the hotel where I stayed overheard me speak in Bisaya to a colleague, na-excite gyud sya ug ning approach sa ako to ask if Bisaya ba gyud ko ug taga asa ko. When I told him that I am from Davao, he replied in an uninterested tone "Ahhhhhh" then turned away. Then I called him back to ask taga asa siya, he said he is from CDO, then continued on walking away from me. At the back of my mind, kabalo ko sa reason ngano nakalit sya kawad-an ug gana makigstorya nako. Weird

There were two ladies in front of him na na overhear niya. One lady was telling the other: "Unsa man ning Davao uy Sige kog balik diri, wala man naga bag-o. Parehas gihapun. Maayo pa sa CDO, progressive kaayo! Daghan bag-o!"

Another friend of mine, naa syay guest taga CDO iyang gi suroy sa downtown. Then when they passed by Marco Polo Hotel, ning ana daw tong iyang guest: "Mao ra diay na ang Marco Polo? Abi nakog unsa ka taas ug ka gwapo." Sus! nagsalita ang naay taas nag building sa ilahang lugar.

Of course, these people are always entitled to their opinions.

And mind you, it does not take an ARTICLE in the newspaper to confirm this.

well im from CDO and i dont act like that. that is ur experience so wala ako magagawa, BUT sad to say u focus a lot sa mga taga CDO. i dont have an idea why suko ang mga taga CDO sa mga taga Davao, anyone can explain? or suko ba jud? nonsense... but for me i dont care if ur from Davao, Manila, Cebu just act descent, if not, bisag taga CDO kapa or what mo gawas jud ang pagka ngil-ad ug batasan sa tao, and thats REALITY, stop hypocrisy here. grabe karun pako ka dungog aning issue about CDO ug Davao, i spent more than 15 years of my life sa CDO, never heard of it, sako experience nuon ang mga taga Davao murag medyo hawud sa CDO kay feel nila theyre from Davao but i dont have any against them kay wala man sab sila naka tunob sako. my officemate once said, sus ang CDO mura ra syag langgam unya ang Davao kay elephant, and he was speaking infront sa mga ofismits niya na taga CDO <--- God knows im not lying. pero never jud ko naka encounter ug sobra na awayan about CDO ug Davao, basin kamo lang guro guys kani naa sa forum. just dont generalize people from CDO, try to see also people from Davao, Cebu, Manila. Lets face it, were not perfect, we all have flaws, before we discriminate others, we should look at our own flaws.

    P.S.
i was asking an article about this issue:

"pero there was this tourism expo nga gi- mugna sa mga taga North min particularly that of CDO sa manila pud pero ang ila lang gina promote ila lng pud area aside from that when ask about the peace and order situation sa ila lugar ang ila tubag " peaceful po sa CDO ala pong gulo sa Davao po ang gyira..."

    ...and NOT your experience...

I agree....Business is Business...you do "everything" to sell it. This is so true anywhere on the planet.
I'm sure salespeople of different condo will do the sames, even if they are from the sames city. That's just the way it is. It's kind of amatuer thinking if they do otherwise.

....so buy a free standing house from the suburb instead

    cheers,
    Bisaya Dako

I guess, both of your replies support the observations of the other posters regarding their experiences about CdO attitude towards promoting their City, and that is at the expense of others.

I hope this kind of dog-eat-dog Culture will be rectified. Since, this is an ugly business practice, no matter how you look at it. typical crap mentality (I mean crab); throw dirt at your competition so you may look good. that sounds so much like dirty politics. I hope, we stop justifying this attitude, since greed will pull anyone down.

Sakto ka sandman. Ambot unsay kasuko ani nila sa Davao.

    Here's another story:

A friend of mine was riding a bus from Iligan to CDO. Nag hilom nalang akoang amigo. Wala na niya gipatulan.

    Tsk tsk.

Sa tinood lang, I have yet to see someone from CDO who has something good to say about Davao. Yeah, even ilang Emano ngil-ad pud kaayo ang gipagawas nga article about three years ago about Davao.

So now CDO people, tell us, ngano man gyud mo nagbagutbot sa Davao?

Well, I already have a free standing house in a suburb here in Davao. But I still intend to invest in the condo project of Filinvest across Ayala Center Davao. My friend from Filinvest told me that pre-selling of the 25-storey twin tower condotel will start before the year ends.

A lot of my friends are also investing in other condo projects scattered all over Metro Davao (yes, including condo projects in the Island Garden City of Samal). We already have free standing houses, but we want to invest because property boom in Davao at present is really in an upsurge. We want to get a share of the unprecendented progress of Davao right now. Ika nga, strike while the iron is hot.

    Cheers!
