I'd rather watch an exciting NBA game than a boring European style of play anytime!, anyday! I' not saying RR is not fun to watch, yes he is, but comparing him to LBJ is unfair to the King! About the Athens debacle? All the teams there sent their best players...while the US had a hard time convincing some of the marquee players to suit up...did Kevin Garnett play? Bout Shaq? Kidd? Carter? bout Kobe? What if they played? that was a very young team...their average age would be equivalent to an NBA rookie, they only prepared for two weeks, they went up against teams that has been playing together for many years and were familiar with the international brand of basketball...and LeBron was not given too much playing time compared to Rubio in Beijing...Their coach Larry Brown just didn't allow them to be themselves on the court.....Rubio may have a higher basketball IQ but nothing beats sheer talent....he may have the highest basketball IQ in the universe but that alone cannot stop or outshine someone like LeBron...LeBron is a genius, a wizard in the basketball court...I have nothing against Rubio...I mean he's good...I just want to share my opinion on the LBJ comparison hehe Peace!
Hehe. The point of comparison is not about skills but what has both accomplished at the age of 17. LeBron can and will clearly outplay Rubio in all facets of the game individually but it's not a guarantee he can give good team results: winning. Prior to getting into the NBA, I doubt if LeBron can be of great impact if he's suiting up for top billed international games like FIBA World and Olympics even with his excellent skillset.

Never did I say that Rubio is way better than James. My point is he has gone further at his age and he's got a lot of credentials to back it up other than Spain has lesser talent than USA.

Heck, if LeBron would suit up for some team in Europe, he would be the go-to-guy at 17... Geez...

He is a manchild and a phenom with usurpassed athletisicm and basketball IQ that the world has never seen before even before he played in his first professional game...

Mark my words, when LeBron reaches his peak in his late twenties, he would be even greater than Kobe or Jordan in individual talent... May God enlighten the Cavs management and sorround him with quality teammates...

When LeBron was still in high school, the basketball world was abuzz about this high school phenom... Not merely some YouTube sensation... HE WAS FOR REAL...

Even Shaq, Jordan and Magic and a whole lot more NBA stars came to watch this monster play for St. Vincent -St. mary's...

This is what LeBron has acheived at the age of 18...

James was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. Facing the Sacramento Kings in his first NBA game, James recorded 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals and shot 60% from the floor.[8] After the game during the press conference, James was asked who he wanted to be like the most and his answer was Jason Kidd. James had admired Kidd since he took the floor in 94 and dedicated his first triple double to him. James praised Kidd by saying he was the best point guard alive today, and his passing abilities were second to none. After recording a season-high 41 points against the New Jersey Nets, James became the youngest player in league history to score at least 40 points in a game.[9] He averaged 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game for the season,[10] and was named 2003-04 NBA Rookie of the Year; becoming the first Cavalier and youngest NBA player to ever receive the award.[2] He joined Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan as the only three players in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in their rookie season.[2] The Cavaliers improved by 18 wins and concluded the regular season with a 35–47 record, but failed to make the playoffs.[11]

Hoopster was right!!! Larry Brown's inability to harness James' magnanimous talent in the 2004 Olympics... " What if they played? that was a very young team...their average age would be equivalent to an NBA rookie, they only prepared for two weeks, they went up against teams that has been playing together for many years and were familiar with the international brand of basketball...and LeBron was not given too much playing time compared to Rubio in Beijing...Their coach Larry Brown just didn't allow them to be themselves on the court....." I would like to emphasize on that...

Now that is what I call a global impact!!! When the whole world knows you, you know you're that damn good!

    Rubio = Misleading hype...

so you doubted if LeBron can be of great impact if he's suiting up for top billed international games like FIBA World and Olympics even with his excellent skillset?

I beg to disagree bro...so your doubting the abilities of LeBron? a player who can play multiple positions? 1-5 at that! and yet you doubted if he can be of great impact in the World basketball stage? where versatility is a must for every player... How can that be? Oh Cmon! this is a no brainer actually! it certainly doesn't take a genius to figure this out! i mean he would be making mincemeat of the players in his same age bracket back then! if ever he played in a FIBA Under 17 or Under 19 tournament...he would have scored more than a hundred points with his dominating self and sheer talent... He was even still in his early twenties when he almost singlehandedly carried the cavz to the NBA Finals....nuff said!

    'Nuff said indeed...

Seen some of his games in high school... Murag professional nag duwa kontra ug mga bata...

LeBron is a like a freight train from hell... Wlay kapugong... Imagine a 6'8 240 going at full speed determined to rape the rim going straight at you... Dli kha ka mka ihi sa kahadlok...

Rubio had that monster game of his nga nka triple double ug 51pts sa under 16 game didto sa Spain...

Imagine if nia si LeBron didto... Khbaw bya ta nga US ang mecca of Basketball supremacy unya "piyongan" rman gali ni LeBron katong HS pa cya againts Melo and the Boys from Oakhill...

Look where the hell he is at the age of 23... The achievements he has... Bsan si "The Rapist" Bryant lau ra kang LeBron pag 23 nya... Imagine LeBron with Shaq at his prime by his side... Dli kha mka 6-peat

The thing nga sikat si Rubio is because he is European and the way he plays is too fancy from the orthodox European guards... ALA Jason Williams... White Chocolate ug dating...

But I ask you, what the hell did he really do in the Olympics Fancy passes and alley-ops to Gasol and stripping the ball from Kobe is that it Big deal... What did he really do? Nanimaho cya againts the US? No! G kilaw man gali na cya katong captain sa China kinsa gali to... G duwa2x-an ra ni CP3 ug ni Deron tawn...

It was because or Gasol, Navarro and Fernandez... Not because of Rubio... Starter cya but big deal...

I'd take China's starting point guard over Rubio hands down... Maypa tong insik ky masaligan pa maka igo sa perimeter... Mag silbi ang fancy2x ni Rubio sa NBA? Don't think so...

ricky rubio is still 17 years old and is considered a top 5 pick in the nba. The first time is saw this dude was when they played vs. usa wherein he drove pass jason kid using a behind the back dribble that made jason kidd dizzy...what's nice with this kid is the pass first before shoot mentality. And this kid is a smart player, he knows when to pass or score... what he needs to improve is he nedds to bulk up inorder to prevent injuries.
