Mr. Bean may I inquire who told you that? Obviously that person who told you is making a black propaganda against Davao, that's how ugly that person's attitude is just so to give you false impression against Davao.

That source of black propaganda about XDS is trying to mislead you, the truth is far from it. He was probably referring to an imaginary vigilante group supposed to eliminate criminals like thieves, pushers, holduppers, swindlers, snatchers in which obviously you're not such a person. You are actually very safe please don't mind the black propaganda lie being told to scare you. There are many good traits of Filipinos, but the envious nasty ones aren't one of such traits and he's showing his ugly green-eyed side, that person who tried to scare you is lying to you.

Whats wrong diay if politician says they will overtake Davao in a couple of years? arent you proud CDO is looking up for Davao? do you think utak talangka na sya?

"CDO had been trying hard to rival Davao trying to self-proclaim as the new premier city in Mindanao" , asa na sya na article gibutang, can you tell me your source, i would gladly read it.

No one is insulting Davao, too defensive lang cguro ka. If you think ugly attitude na sa uban, and what are you doing posting bad impressions about CDO? Isnt it crab mentality also?

The answer as to the source that you're looking for is actually on the first paragraph that you posted. Obvious naman, if your politicians say they will overtake Davao then of course they're trying hard to rival Davao as a new premiere city, it's klaro nga undeniable that's what it is. Even the thread starter mentioned about the impression if you read the early post. So that cannot be denied. As you may know, mentioning such outstanding claims requires big responsibility when put in media, otherwise the consequences of not keeping one's word will only have one option but to swallow it in front of the larger scope of audience. Ingon ana kadako ang responsibilidad nga atubangon especially using mass media as tool.

As you may notice the one's giving bad impression about CDO are the people themselves who are from that place. Kaya nga I mentioned my concern that people from CDO should do their part because what other forumers from the area did makes those of us observing outside CDO question the monicker 'golden friendship' kung ingon ana ang ginapakita.

So as a gesture far from being crab mentality attitude shown by some of your counterparts, I count that you will do your part in keeping credible the monicker city of golden friendship because I really cannot consider credible friends those with envious attitudes and utak talangka. I would actually say that I appreciated your statement thanking for the info and knowledge gained, do keep the civilized approach up. I even mentioned that I did recall some people from CDO I met whose friendly dispositions are worth reminding me that it's authentic in contrast to the attitudes by some CDO forumers that only seem to make it insincere. I would be glad to rediscover that there are indeed CDO people who genuinely deserves the monicker golden friendship, but that remains to be proven, and that depends on CDO people themselves.

It really depends talaga bro BUT everytime you say bad comments about people from CDO esp utak talangka, it really makes me wonder why are you making such comments about people from CDO when you havent had a chance to stay from that place, i believe. im not from CDO talaga but i grew up there. people from that city are very friendly kaya i missed my place though i am here in Cebu very booming than CDO, i still miss CDO. i never heard CDO claiming to be the premier in Mindanao. If CDO is trying hard to overtake Davao then take it as a compliment because CDO is looking up for Davao, its not crab mentality. if CDO officials are pulling Davao down, dont you think wala buhatun inyo Mayor ana?

I had actually been to the place and stayed there and yes I would agree that there are people there who are genuinely friendly (except for some forumers on the net that I encounter, nah,). Once while on my way to Cebu many years na we had overnight stay in CDO and one early morning I strolled at Divisoria not noticing any garbage or cigarette butt in the street, I even admired and told others how clean CDO was. That was before. Although I had been keeping it to myself for many years, I guess I will have to say this. During my last visit to CDO I was literally shocked. some portions of the city had become very dirty, I can't even forget witnessing basura mas taas pa sa tao right in a city street! Geez, what has happened to CDO nahugaw na man kaayo??

But I didn't even tell it to anybody that time for the city's sake except nowadays when the internet seem to provide a glimpse sa negative attitude of some CDO people on the internet, murag hambugero man diay mamotbot pa gani uban. Unya manlait sa Dabaw grabe kaayo murag nakamenos. That's not the kind of CDO people I met kay dili man pala-away pero I'm having reservations. bisan diri sa forum gapakita gihapon ug ngil-ad nga batasan. Ingon ana ba gyud mga tage CDO or nacorrupted lang kay klase-klase na man gud tao dinha.

CDO is named as the city of golden friendship, and its worth it. i believe in every city naa man jud ngil-ad ug batasan di man jud na malikayan. and about sa basura, maybe youre there friday and saturday, pag those days kasi meron silang night cafe in the middle of the city for funds daw tua. actually nice ang intention BUT for me hugawan ko kay daghan tao, guot, and obviously daghan basura. BUT after sa night cafe may mga city aid naman tapos peaceful naman sya kasi daghan police ug mga sniffing dogs but still ayoko sa night cafe but i know good intention sya kay makahatag sya work sa uban ug addt fund sab sa government. tanan man cguro may probs sa basura, traffic... cge lang ako lang ingnun ako uncle Vice Mayor Vicente Emano, hik hik hik...

cge UP ko ani nga thread, its time to relax na kay kapoy na atubang sa computer.

I actually had an experience there's a businessman here who after staying in CDO, suddenly decided to sell all his properties in Davao and mentioning negative things about Davao's economy and having praises to CDO's so he decided to base there. I thought it was a bit excagerated but he already decided, but I wonder if he had regrets because Davao is now fast rebounding. That time I was having suspicion that CDO people are doing such nasty strategy at Davao's expense but I keep it to myself kay ngil-ara pud kung mao man. Then there's this foreigner who planned to buy properties in Davao, but first he will go bohol then CDO then Davao. We were preparing for a property for him here in Davao and anticipating his visit, but the next thing we knew, after staying some days in CDO he decided to scrap his Davao trip, got out of CDO and went back to Bohol and said he no longer plans to go to Davao or CDO. That was really very suprising kay before he seemed excited to invest in Davao. That really made me suspicious kay basin kana gyud ginabuhat sa uban mga taga CDO to Davao's disadvantage, pero I still did not make conclusion kay pangit gyud kung mao man. Then there was this senior fellow who already have much experience dealing with prospective investors. It was he who confirmed nga daghan gyud diay siya experience nga ingon ana. There were supposed buyers interested in Davao but were discouraged because some from CDO attempted to discourage it para mag invest sa ila. 3 times it happened in my experience and that is something that cannot be ignored or consented. Dako na nga offense and if any of you think we are happy about what they did, you are absolutely wrong.

Dili siguro tanan ingon ana kangil-ad gibuhat against Davao, but kadtong gabuhat ana they have only become instrumental in corrupting CDO's reputation. That surely cannot be considered a trait of 'golden friendship.'

bro if business gani pag uusapan, daghan jud swapang, anywhere in the world not only CDO. i believe from Cebu, Davao, Manila or sang lupalop ka man if its business, its business talaga. you think Davao lang ang dili bisitahun sa mga foreigner? even in CDO, di man kaau daghan foreigner and you know why? its because of those media na gubot daw ang MINDANAO, much worst napabalita na naay bomba sa Davao so obviously ang mga foreigner mo back out jud and we cannot blame them for that. its not CDO people whos doing it but maybe its what they have heard from the media. maglagot gani ko if ma mention gubot ang Mindanao kasi sa CDO paeceful man, al ot of my friends are afraid to visit CDO because of that wrong info. and again bro, if its business, swapangan ang mga tao bro i tell you. if you want to sell something you really have give ur best shot, gawin mo na lahat para mabenta lang benebenta mo, and thats reality bro, we really cant deny that fact.

If that's their kind of reality of a rat race and dog-eat-dog world it's not for me or some people I knew. Their kind of reality shows only the ugly fact about them. But the kind of people here in Davao that I chose to deal with preferably do not have that kind of ugly strategy and who still prefer to follow their principle, even the kind of people I deal with still practice word of honor pero pinili hinuon ni nga klaseng mga tao and we protect our circles kay dili gyud tanan ingon ana kinaiya. This is our fact, but it may not be with theirs.

I believe by Davao standards this is not excusable, so we cannot really agree that having many people thus many garbage is accepted, nasa tao lang gyud na on personal discipline and concern with one's environment. Because Davao is a much larger city but the cleanliness is maintained here. Even during the Kadayawan, which was a weeklong celebration and every day daghan gyud tao and fully booked mga hotels. But astonishingly the city remained clean. Even during the Indak-Indak where there is dancing on the streets all day and night and naa pa Floral Float parade, I can really attest that the streets, bisan didto nga grabe kadaghan mga tao, surprisingly remained clean and mga basura kept to a minimal lang gyud. That's why I could really say that Kadayawan was indeed a success.

We are Mindanaoan Cities and we should start keeping our standards that make us unique. If Davao can keep the cleanliness despite its large population, there's no excuse for other smaller Mindanao cities not to be able to do it.
