All those x-rated stories you said about the Bible were an individual acts, there are no Bible verses you can find that promotes *** brutalities as what you are trying to imply. Regarding fundies, I haven't yet witness a muslim apologist put forward a convincing defense of their faith in here:

if your religion's sacred book commands you to kill people in the name of your God. that's something very dangerous. not to mention evil enough that for the sake of love for humanity we should confront it with the truth.

and wake people up. i would not have known how violent islam is had i not read those verses from its sacred book. if we remain silent to these violence, these verses that teach and admonish violence. we will be condoning it and so we too will be guilty of the blood shed by those innocent people whose only sin is to turn away from the violent religion because they cannot swallow the violence written in it.

I am never silent over these issues even anti-abortion issues. of anti-abortionist bombing abortion clinic. in facts, it's an irony that people had been caling themsleves pro-life and yet killing people who do not share their conviction. why shackle yourselves into slavery when one had been born to be free. nature gave us a gift. the ability to think and use our brain.

i do not think Jesus is a God nor do i adhere to a God who commanded his chosen people to kill those who do not worship him. but if we are to look at the christian book (new testament), at least we do not anymore see the violent teachings of the torah being preached. and that's the difference. whereas islam since it was conceived in the mind of muhamad till the present. violence had always been a part of their creed because it is written in their sacred book.

indeed, there are christian terrorists but the only difference is that these christian terrorists do not go out killing people with shouts of "Jesus is Great" and justifying it with verses from their sacred book.

who can even say that a God/Gods exist when not one of us ever saw this Being. and yet many want to fool themselves with their own absolute truth and with certainty that a supreme being exist.

hahahaha so you are now saying i'm a christian. go ahead bash them all you want because i do not even think christianity is speaking the absolute truth. many of the incredible stories about jesus in the bible are fairytales. and IMHO jesus was an illegitimate child of mary that rose to prominence and was made a diety by his disciples and history was never again the same after that. even the story from the torah are filled with fairytales. there might be some historical truth in it yet they had woven fairytales into it.

from the POV of someone outside religion. christianity's teaching is based on the new testament and not the torah. that is the reason why it is said that everything was made new. including the covenant. the old testament is only used as evidence for the prophesy of a messiah which christians believed to be jesus of nazareth.
