    fate/stay night - 10

    Summary:
After doing some cleaning of the dojo, Shirou finds out that Rin is not a morning person. On this day, in order to train with Saber, Shirou decides to skip school. Training consists mainly of Shirou trying to land a hit on Saber with a shinai, but failing miserably. After two hours, they take a break. Remembering what Rin had said before about Servant’s having their own desires that they want fulfilled by the Holy Grail, Shirou asks Saber what hers is. She eventually tells him that it’s so that she can fulfill a responsibility, something that she couldn’t do when she was still alive. She wants to be able to redo her life.
Saber’s stomach growls, so Shirou goes out to buy some food. Outside the supermarket, much to his astonishment, Ilya comes up to him wanting to talk. She’s left Berserker behind this time. Because Ilya is clinging to him, Shirou tries to shake her off, but almost knocks her over. After seeing her sad eyes, he agrees to talk with her. The two go to the playground where Ilya tries to balance herself on a log, but ends up falling into Shirou’s lap. Shirou wonders if she’s cold and Ilya tells him that she dislikes the cold. Despite that though, she likes snow (which is the same color as her hair). Seeing her like this, Shirou finds it hard to believe that Ilya is Berserker’s master. Actually, even though Ilya is a Master, she never learned magic. She also reveals that she lives with her two maids in a western-style house in the woods, but she’s usually confined to her room. Shirou offers her the taiyaki that he had bought earlier, but their eating is interrupted by a distant yell from Berserker. Ilya hurries home, and Shirou is reminded that Saber is still waiting for him.
In the evening, Rin returns home and tells Shirou that she was approached by Shinji. He wanted to work together with her, but she rejected him and told him that she was already partnered with Shirou. Shinji didn’t take too well to hearing that. Later, Shirou steps into the bathroom and finds Saber standing there naked. He rushes back out, but she follows him and he suffers through her telling him not to worry about seeing her naked. Of course Shirou tries to keep himself turned around and runs away at the first chance he gets. It seems that in addition to the physical training he’s getting from Saber, Shirou is also getting magical training from Rin. She has him try to strengthen a lamp, but Shirou breaks it instead. Rin then makes him swallow a jewel that causes him to be very dizzy. She explains that it’ll force the switch inside of him to turn on the magical circuit. For now, she wants him to work towards learning duplication magic. Taking a rest after the training, Archer comes to have a chat with Shirou. Archer makes it clear that he doesn’t think Shirou has any chance of winning a fight because he won’t be able to beat a Servant. His advice for Shirou is to use his imagination to defeat enemies he can’t defeat in reality

    fate/stay night - 11

    Summary:
Right after Shirou finishes an intense training session with Saber, Rin drags him off to do more magic training. She wants him to continue trying to reinforce the lamps, and this time she’s brought dozens for him to work on. While he’s doing that, she visits the storehouse where Shirou used to practice. She comes to the realization that Shirou’s ability is not as she originally thought because it doesn’t follow the rule of equivalent exchange. Instead, Shirou seems to have been originally specialized in some incarnation of reinforcement magic. By this time, Shirou has managed to shatter almost all of the lamps in his attempts at magic. When the phone rings, he answers it and finds Shinji on the other end. Shinji convinces Shirou to come to school alone without telling Rin or Saber. But when Shirou gets there, a red barrier envelopes the building, giving Shirou another set of chest pains. He stumbles into a classroom where all of the students are also suffering. He’s reminded of what happened ten years ago, but then notices that the marking on his hand is glowing.
Shinji shows up in front of Shirou to taunt him. It seems that Shinji is still quite bitter about Shirou and Rin pairing up. He gets Shirou really pissed off when he tells of how Fuji-nee had crawled to him asking him to call an ambulance, but he had kicked her instead. Something inside Shirou starts to power up, but he asks Shinji to stop the barrier one last time. Of course Shinji won’t comply, so Shirou is left with no choice but to use force. Shinji tries to stop him with a magical book, but Shirou has learned a few things from Saber’s training and is able to press the attack. Fortunately for Shinji, Rider comes to his rescue. Shirou is still no match for the Servant who is able to stab him several times. However, her attempted killing blow into his collarbone never pierces through because he uses his magic. Instead, she simply kicks him out of the window. Time seems to freeze for Shirou as he once again remembers 10 years ago. However, this time he has Saber. He uses his magic to summon her and she appears to catch him.
After telling her what they need to do, the two re-enter the school. Saber faces off against Rider while Shirou goes after her master. Shinji starts running like a coward and in the process knocks over a bucket full of mops. Shirou breaks the handle on one of them and makes it into metal. He then uses it to smash through Shinji’s book’s next magical attack. The scared Shinji starts calling for Rider, but she continues to fight Saber. Having finally caught up, Shirou punches Shinji into the wall. Shirou once again tries to get Shinji to stop the barrier, this time threatening to kill him. With his neck cracking under the pressure of Shirou’s hands, Shinji yells for Rider to stop the Blood Fort. She scoffs, but complies with his order. Shirou doesn’t let go just yet because he also wants Shinji to give up his command spells. While Shinji is resisting, Rider finds the opportunity to speed past Saber and save her master. Saber warns that Rider is going to unleash the magical power of the barrier. Rider tells Shinji that although she’s inferior to Saber, her Noble Phantasm surpasses everyone else’s, and no one can stop her sprint. With that, Rider stabs herself in the neck, spurting blood everywhere. But that blood gathers in front of her to form a seal and that seal becomes a bright light that sprouts wings. It completely obliterates the hallway in a beam of destruction.
With his opponents gone and the battle over, Shirou passes out. He dreams of the pain he went through ten years ago and thinks about following in his father’s footsteps. When he wakes up, he finds Rin watching over him. She tells that everyone at school is ok even though a lot of them had to go to the hospital. Rin once again attributes Shirou’s healing to Saber, so Shirou seeks her out in the dojo. She starts lecturing him about going off alone, but this time Shirou is quick to apologize and he promises not to go fight alone again. He now realizes that he needs her strength to be able to beat the other Masters. Having said that, he still thinks that he should fight alongside her instead of letting her fight alone. She accepts his stubbornness and agrees to be his sword. Rin walks in on the two shaking hands. She has brought Saber’s clothes, though she wonders why Saber wears such a simple design. Saber replies that it’s because Shirou said it suits her.

    fate/stay night - 12

    Summary:
Shirou gets a phone call telling him that Fuji-nee is up and well. On this day, Saber doesn’t want Shirou to go pursue Shinji because his body hasn’t recovered yet, but Shirou wants Shinji to take responsibility for what he did. Along with Rin, the three start talking about Rider’s Noble Phantasm and how it’s anti-army instead of anti-personnel. An anti-personnel Noble Phantasms (like Saber’s) can be used limitless times in one go, whereas an anti-army Noble Phantasm like Rider’s is a one-shot missile. Shirou realizes that they need to defeat Rider before she uses her Noble Phantasm. But Rin won’t be going with them to search for Shinji because she has her own things to do. Shirou and Saber go to the Matou home, but Saber is unable to detect anything. The two figure out that they shouldn’t be looking for Shinji, but rather a barrier.
While they are searching the city, Shirou starts showing signs of fatigue. Saber takes him to a park and sits him down. She spots a couple on a nearby bench – with the guy’s head in the girl’s lap - and so she offers her own lap to Shirou. He’s of course too embarrassed to take it and ends up sleeping on his arm. Shirou again dreams of that day 10 years ago when his father found him. He wakes up one hour later; Saber hadn’t woken him because he needed rest. Shirou tells her about the past with the great fire, his old house burning down, and his adoptive father finding him. Saber thinks that Shirou want to prevent there being more victims of the war because he was a victim himself. But Shirou knows that it’s because he was the only one who survived that day and he wants to repay the dead by preventing it from happening again. Saber says that Shirou should think more of himself.
The two eventually sense something and follow it to an isolated area. A projectile comes flying out of nowhere, but Saber is quick to defend Shirou from it. They see that the aggressor is Rider. Saber tells Shirou to stay put and launches herself up the side of the building, transforming into her battle armor in the process. Saber doesn’t fare so well fighting on the side of a building, but then Rider leaps towards the roof. Shirou isn’t about to do nothing and heads into the building. The elevator stops short of the roof, so Shirou runs the rest of the way up. In the shadows, Ilya and Berserker are watching. When Saber reaches the rooftop, she sees a bright light surrounded a winged-horse on top of which is Rider. She eventually comes to realize that Rider isn’t the spirit of a great hero, but is instead the spirit of something more malicious. Saber gets hit by one of Rider’s swoops down, but avoids the next one.
Shirou eventually gets up top, but then he hears Shinji’s taunting voice. Keeping himself hidden, Shinji orders Rider to first destroy Saber. Rider rides high in the sky on her Pegasus as Saber starts channeling the power of the wind. Like a meteor, Rider charges downward while yelling “Bellerophon.” The winds gather around Saber’s sword and then dissipate to reveal a long golden blade. While yelling “Excalibur,” she fires off a yellow blast towards Rider. Before Rider gets vaporized, her mask shatters, revealing her eyes. The resulting explosion is huge and leaves a yellow trail in the night sky, one that is seen by Rin. For whatever reason, Rin seems to be at the Matou house. Sakura is inside, looking out of her window. She says something, but we don’t hear what it is. Back on the rooftop, Shinji’s magic book - and thus his command spells - goes up in flames. But before Shirou can go after Shinji, Saber collapses. Shirou cradles the heavily breathing Saber in his arms and screams “Saber!!!”

    REC - 01

    Summary:
Matsumaru Fumihiko is about to throw away a pair of movie tickets when a red-haired girl stops him. She convinces him to give her one of them, and then she drags him into the theater. During the movie, Fumihiko finds it really strange that this girl is reading the subtitles out loud to herself. When he asks her about it afterwards, she tells him that she wants to become Audrey Hepburn. Fumihiko is a bit confused, but then he catches sight of Tanaka-san, the woman had originally promised to meet with him. However, she’s instead with a rather burly man. Seeing him depressed, the red-haired girl offers to comfort Fumihiko as compensation for the ticket. Over dinner, the girl reveals that she’s a seiyuu in-the-making and Fumihiko realizes that she was serious about the Audrey Hepburn comment. The way home is different for them, so they part ways after eating.
That night, Fumihiko ends up dreaming about Tanaka-san, the burly guy, and the red-haired girl dubbing over his voice. He waves up from the nightmare to hear sirens passing by his window. He walks until he finds the burning building, and spots that girl sitting alone in the rain on a swing set. Since she has no one to turn to, he invites her to his home and has her take a shower. After she gets out, he presents his bed to her, but she starts to feel guilty about how nice he’s being to her. He tells her that she’ll feel better tomorrow, but the girl starts crying because all of her books and photographs went up in flames. He comforts her and lets her cry on his shoulder for a bit. Their embrace turns into a kiss which turns into Fumihiko getting on top of her in bed. Before they have ***, it occurs to the girl that she hasn’t introduced herself: her name is Onda Aka, a seiyuu in-the-making.
The next morning, Fumihiko finds Aka gone, having left only a note that says she’s returning to her office and bids him farewell.

school rumble ni gakki - 01

    Summary:
In the Bunka-Bunsei period, there is also a shop run by Yakumo and Tenma, but the two girls are in debt. Hanai, a samurai, promises to protect them, but gets quickly beat up by the debt collectors. It’s a mysterious samurai named Mangoku who is able to defeat everyone. It’s actually Harima, and this starts School Rumble.
Harima is riding to school and recaps everything that’s happened so far from his point of view. At school, Itoko gives him a postcard from the publisher Dankosha telling him that he’s been selected for a special prize. Harima gets pumped up enough to confess to Tenma, but she’s on the rooftop lecturing Yakumo about Harima. Harima tries to clear things up, but ends up blabbing about how Yakumo spend the night at his house. He has to beg her to believe him saying that nothing happened before she does. However, he accidentally says that he’ll make Yakumo happy, which further cements his relationship with her in Tenma’s mind.
Coming back from that, Tenma finds Karasuma and his band practicing. She imagines that she’s part of their band, but even in her dream, she gets rejected from a profession debut. Tenma confides to Karasuma that she’s not good with instruments or singing. He cheers her up by giving her a turtle and saying “Kamekichi.” Tenma spends the night trying to figure out what that means, and comes to the conclusion that it signifies Sleeping Beauty. The explanation is that the turtle is slow (noroi), and there’s a curse (noroi) in Sleeping Beauty.
The next day, Tenma requests a special boxed lunch from Yakumo, but also asks that Yakumo deliver it to her during lunch break. Yakumo goes to school with Sara and the two encounter Eri at the gate. She greets them and goes in. Sara feels that Eri really does like Harima. At lunchtime, Hanai goes to see Yakumo, but hears that she’s going out with Harima. His scream can be heard through the school. He returns to the classroom and the two charge each other, but Hanai’s punch has no power. Yakumo brings the lunch that Tenma requested, but it turns out that she wants Yakumo to give it to Harima. Hanai can’t believe that Yakumo would give a boxed lunch with a heart shape to Harima, and Harima is wounded by how Tenma is working to bring him and Yakumo together. They are interrupted when Class 2-D (Tougou Masakazu, Harry Mackenzie, and Lala) come to challenge them for the upcoming culture festival.

The OP and ED were a lot better than I had thought they’d be. Well, not great, but not complete crap either. Tokito Ami is a better singer than I was expecting.

    Sukuran is back!
The first episode spends a little bit of time reintroducing the plot, but otherwise picks up where last season left off. Harima is still after Tenma, but it gets more and more complicated since Tenma has paired him with Yakumo. And then there’s the dozens of other relationship pairings that are still here, including EriXHarima, HanaiXYakumo, TenmaXKarasuma, and so on. Mentar pointed out to me that Wannabe Fansubs has a fairly thorough character relationship page up.
The comedy side of this episode doesn’t disappoint either. I found the end of the episode and the after-episode short about the data on the 2-C girls to be the funniest. Technical-wise, the animation is very solid and I heard several familiar background songs. And since they’re covering the beginning of volume eight, that means that the long anticipated survival battle is just around the corner (in other words, next week).
Yay for more Yakumo and Eri!

    BLOOD + - 38

    Summary:
On Christina Island, news of Karl’s death has reached Diva and her Chevaliers. When James promises to protect Diva and kneels down to kiss her hand, he sees that she’s transformed back to her original body. Saya, meanwhile, is sitting at a dock staring at the ocean and thinking about what Solomon had said about her having companions. However, Saya still feels that she is by herself and tells Hagi that this is their fight. She doesn’t want anyone else to be hurt - not Kai, not David, not even Hagi. Kai arrives by car and gives her a basket from Javier. He’s actually here to tell her that Joel has made preparations for them to go to Christina Island by ship. Inside the basket, Saya finds a note from Javier asking her to come by and play again. Saya wonders to herself why everyone is so concerned about her.
That night, the three remaining Shifu are waiting for Saya to arrive on the boat. Karman says that if Saya doesn’t come, they can go themselves to face the Chevalier and the Corpse Corps. He and Loulou think Corpse Corps lack the battle experience and individuality that the Shifu possess, but Moses points out that the enemy’s numbers could turn it into a relentless fight. Karman doesn’t care and grows impatient with waiting for the humans who are currently in a conference. In one of the ship’s cabins, Lewis is explaining the layout of Christina Island. The island was abandoned after the fishing there died out. Now, the government uses the island to store nuclear waste underground. Okamura explains that the promotional video (music) company got permission from the government to use that island and that shooting begins tomorrow. David says that even if it’s a trap, they have to bet on the small possibility.
Just as everyone is staring at the clock, Loulou bursts into the room to announce that Saya is here. All of them go outside to meet her as she boards the ship. Seeing how Saya can’t look at them directly, Mao tells her to shape up because everyone was waiting for her. Saya spots David and asks him to take her to Diva, but she also says that afterwards, she’ll handle things herself. David tells her that they are here to support her. That doesn’t change even if Red Shield is no more - they will still be her shield. Okamura and Mao decide to take their leave now so that they can return to Gray’s house. Saya wants them to apologize for her to Gray and everyone, but Mao tells Saya to say it herself when she comes back. Okamura agrees and even asks for an interview once she comes back.
The ship arrives near the island and the group makes an amphibious landing through inflatable rafts. Surveying the landscape, Kai notices that there is light coming from building at the top of the hill. The three Shifu decide that it’s easier for them if they move by themselves. They take off and come to a part of the island heavily guarded by the Corpse Corps. Just as Moses says that it’s their duty to bury the Corpse Corps, the enemy strikes. With some teamwork, the Shifu are able to handle the first attacks from the five Corpse Corps. As they are fighting, the main group is approaching the house at the top of the hill. Hagi suddenly senses something and shields Saya with his cello from a projectile. Kai recognizes that the person standing in front of them now - James - is the same Chevalier from Covent Garden.
David immediately tries to hit James with a bullet, but James instantly changes into a Chiropteran form. James tells Saya that she’ll die here today. She is the only one in the world whose blood can kill Diva, and so by defeating her, the safety of Diva and her Chevalier is guaranteed. Saya rushes in and tries to hit James, but the Chevalier’s armor is still too tough. When she tries to strike low at his feet, James quickly blocks with his arm. He grabs hold onto Saya’s sword until Hagi smashes into him with the cello case. James knows that Saya is working with the Shifu, but he calls them all amateurs who don’t know how to fight. Having seen enough, Kai asks for some cover fire from Lewis and David because he’s moving up to Saya’s position. James continues talking, saying that Saya’s grave will be the nuclear waste pit.
Kai shoots James, diverting his attention and allowing Hagi to grab Saya out from in front of James. Lewis then pelts the enemy Chevalier with a barrage of machine gun fire. Kai tells Saya that, like James says, it’s impossible for them to defeat James by themselves. But Kai has a plan and asks Saya to lend him Hagi. For now, Saya will have to keep James busy with just David and Lewis’ help. Meanwhile, the Shifu are holding up against the Corpse Corps’ superior numbers, but Loulou and Karman lose sight of Moses. Moses is actually fighting three Corpse Corp by himself, and is getting slowly defeated. After hitting Moses twice, one of the Corpse Corp comes in for a killing blow, but a cello case flies out and flattens his skull against the nearby wall. Kai is also here, and has a request for Moses and the Shifu. Moses says that they should talk afterwards, referring to the fact that the Corpse Corp have gotten back up on their feet.
Solomon returns to base where Anschel is waiting. Anschel tells Solomon about how Saya and company have gone to Christina Island. Solomon remarks that that’s where Diva has gone to have her promotional video shoot, but then he notices that there’s someone standing in the corner - none other than Diva herself. Back on the island, Saya is actually holding her own fairly well against James with a bit of help from Lewis and David; neither side is able to hurt the other. James, however, corners her so that her back is against the deep pit. It is at this point that Kai shows up and once again distracts James. The three Shifu then appear above the Chevalier and dig their weapons into his body. Hagi comes in and clings to James’ left arm, ripping off the armor plating even though James manages to impale Hagi. The lack of plating leaves James open to Saya’s bloodied sword.
James loses an arm to the crystallization effects, but he grabs Saya and runs toward the nuclear waste pit. She stabs him in the right leg, causing him to lose that leg, but by now James has jumped into the pit. Kai reaches out and grabs Saya’s outstretched arm, but he gets pulled in too. A flash of light can be seen going into the pit. James recognizes that the Chiropteran who flew in is actually Solomon. After saying goodbye to him, Solomon slices off James’ remaining arm - the one holding Saya. He carries Saya and Kai on his back and flies back up, having saved them. With the battle over, Solomon reveals that by the time Saya and her friends came, Diva had already left the island. Solomon realized that it was his brother’s plan for him to reveal the information to Saya. The name of that brother is Anschel Goldsmith, a statement that elicits gasps from Lewis and David.
Back at their castle, Diva is asking Anschel if James will be ok. Rather than answering her, he tells her about how Nathan will come and take her to New York. As for Anschel himself, he’ll come later. Solomon is actually telling Saya and friends the same information about Diva going to New York. He then gets ready to leave, but Saya stops him and asks him why he’s helping them even though he’s the enemy. When Solomon suggests that it’s because he loves her, Hagi steps in between the two of them. Seeing Hagi’s glare, Solomon proclaims that he is one of Saya’s allies and does not want to compete with Hagi. He then disappears. Kai collapses soon after from pain. He tries to downplay the injury, saying that it’s nothing compared to Saya’s wound - the wound that doesn’t heal. Kai says that he will become the adhesive plaster that closes up her wounds. Saya can only look back at him without saying anything.

    Summary:

Kira manages to defend himself against Kibune’s blade, and despite the repeated attacks taking their toll, Kira remains active. When Renji shows up as well, Amagai sends him to Yamamoto with a piece of the Bakkoutou as proof of the Kasumiooji family’s treasonous actions. Amagai, Ichigo, Rukia, and Shuu then head to the Kasumiooji family estate, but they find Hitsugaya and Rangiku waiting for them. In order to allow Ichigo to get inside and find Rurichiyo, Amagai fights Hitsugaya while Rukia fights Rangiku, but the battles are interrupted when Yamamoto makes an announcement broadcast throughout Soul Society that the Kasumiooji family is suspected of treason, and he orders everyone to storm the Kasumiooji estate to find evidence.

-So back when Charles and V.V. were younger, they hated the world because people were dying/being assassinated because everyone was fighting for the throne. They thus swore to create a world without lies. Marianne and C.C. had agreed to that as well, but one night eight years ago, V.V. had called Marianne out. V.V. felt that Charles had changed after meeting Marianne and had killed her. Fortunately, Anya happened to be there, and Marianne used her Geass on her. With Marianne inside Anya, Charles rewrote Anya and Nunnally’s memories in order to protect everything.

-In the present, Lelouch figures out that his parents cared about themselves and didn’t really care about him or Nunnally, so he uses his Geass on Jupiter with the wish that there’ll be a tomorrow (instead of a new world). This also leads to his parents disappearing.

-One month later, Lelouch claims the Britannian throne with Suzaku as his Knight of Zero. He has to use his Geass on the royal family to get them to accept him, but that doesn’t include Schneizel who is off plotting somewhere.

-The shot of Lelouch and Kallen together in the preview makes me think of LelouchXKallen again, and it looks like he and Suzaku are getting new, somewhat garish outfits.
