Ig-unsa sila ni Reg?
He plays the PG position, a nice passer, and knows how to run a team, great ball handling skills. As far as i know, most of the European playmakers are very effective on the court. He doesn't have to be that athletic, just like Nash and Kidd.
@radiostar
You should have seen how Rubio have ran that Spanish team that well.
not a lot of 17 yrs old had the chance or has the chance to play for their country? not even LeBron? wat if LeBron is Spanish? and he is on his teens?hehe LeBron was already phenomenal in his teens...his games back then games were the first ever nationally broadcasted highscool games...he's a lot better than Rubio when he was 17...he just didn't have a chance to represent US in international tourneys because of the overflowing talents the US have at that time...and he could be representing any country with his exceptional skills at age 17 if he chose to be a chinese citizen or maybe a german citizen at that time hehe

Popularity and effectiveness on the court are two different things. Compare both Rubio and LeBron James. LBJ was by far more popular than Rubio in his high school days but he didn't make it to the national team at the age of 17. It's not because that there are some other players who are far better than him but it's because he won't be that of a factor to the team, unlike what Rubio has been doing with Spain's national team. With Rubio's unselfish play, adjusting to American type of basketball will not be that of a burden.
And talking about the NBA players exodus to Europe? They can't get superstars for now because most of NBA's superstars are still under their respective contracts.
LBJ's game in his high school days won't matter much in the international stage. He dominates games because he's got the size, power, and athleticism which most high school players doesn't have. Maybe he'll have the chance if he plays "European"-type of basketball.
LBJ is a lot better than Rubio in terms of skills but Rubio is by far more mature and experienced at 17 compared to LBJ at that age.
yup daot but naay potential nga ma maau na point guard kay maayo ni siya mo pasa and mo steal.Kobe was a skinny 18 y.o. teeny when he entered sa NBA.sayon ra na padakuon ang lawas.hehehe paalsahun ra na si Rubio og bug-at.ang na notice nako niya kay wala lang kaayo ni siya shooting.but ma develop pa ni iya shooting since 17 yo pa ni siya.
For those who are in doubt because Ricky Rubio doesn't have the bulk, just take a look at Tayshaun Prince.
