umm... i thought faith was based on a personal strong conviction? how come now it has to be reliable as well? confusing here.... that's like saying mo tuo ko ug ginoo but someone has to prove it to me first. :-/

the bible says, 'faith come from hearing, hearing the word of God'. it means, you study and listen about the argument about teachings of faith. once you believe and accept it, that 'personal strong conviction' follows. some believe because somebody proved it to them. some believe because someone shared it to them. some believe because they were born on that faith.

evidence for the origin of faith/belief system is not only from the bible but it combines that with archeology, history and common sense. the absence of evidence for example is like with creation which only learn from moses' writing. we accept that concept of creation by faith. between moses to the new testament writings contains evidences not from the bible alone.

God, already defined his laws. I call it the law of nature. The sun rises; the sun sets. Creatures live and die. We have specific traits that suit our needs in existence. Finally, there is the ever constant "change". These are God's laws as I see it (but do take note that's my POV). It is not defined by some book or books voted by a consensus of biased human beings. When you say you believe *this religion* because they said so always put in mind that it is THEIR VERSION and not a neutral point. When you read in one religion that paganism is a sin and is by the devil, has anyone bothered to research about witchcraft? wiccan? satanism? You'd be surprised what you'd learn when you start delving into their beliefs.

I used to believe what the church told me about these religions. But when I started reading about them I told myself "Well, so the church wasn't being truthful to me after all these years."

so you are with me that God is a God of order. what we dont agree is that God can reveal Himself to man in a way so simple like prophets and man of God writing scriptures we have now like bibles or quran. if God cant reveal Himself to man, how can man know the way of salvation, laws of God that He wants man to follow, etc. if that will happen, God is somewhat depriving man to know, love and obey Him. as you have said, God has laws, for me God has laws that transcend man to achieve salvation. my point is, He is not God if we dont know Him and doesn't reveal Himself to us.
