How do you do this in photoshop?

EASY, click the layer image then TRIM or CROP to the desired size and double click or right click then selecting blending options->select color overlay and select your desired color->then add a dropshadows and text on it.

done!

remove first the background.. right click on the layer blending options -- tick on the gradient overlay and thats it. choose the color combination you want

the fastest way to do it is by using LEVELS then by levels use the sign EYEDROPPER and apply it to ur canvass

Yes, Levels should do it, and than a little bit manual editing.
