This thread seems to be full of Arroyo loyalists (and a few ERAP fans).

To those saying Arroyo is the "lesser evil", why settle for a "lesser evil"? I'm sure if we looked hard enough we'd find Filipinos who have integrity, good moral character, honesty, and true dedication to public service. GMA and ERAP both have none of those qualities.

By the way, I voted for Roco. May he rest in peace. Sayang.

GMA's continued stay as President just tells our children that it's ok to lie, cheat, and steal as long as you come out on top. ERAP's landslide victory as president tells our children that it's ok to be dumb, to be a drunkard, gambler, and womanizer, as long as you have good looks and look "pro-poor" (even as you own mansions and lots of luxury cars).

Both of them damaged our country severely. Neither one deserves to be President. Arguing about who caused "more damage" is pointless. They both caused too much damage and don't deserve to lead our country. One down, one to go.

If it were up to me I'd want a caretaker government led by the Supreme Court Chief Justice Davide. Then new elections, this time hopefully we'd have a more mature electorate who'd choose someone based on qualifications and track record. Though I realize that might be an impossible dream.

If you meant Gloria's "lapse in judgement" spiel... what she did was not just a lapse in judgement, it was a major betrayal of public trust. Calling an election commissioner, whom you appointed over the vocal complaints of many people citing his involvement in previous election shenanigans, during elections and asking about "yung dagdag, yung dagdag" is not just a lapse in judgement. What she did was "damage control", not "asking for forgiveness".

Has she presented Commissioner Garcillano for investigation? Did she allow the impeachment trial to proceed so we can all determine what really happened? No? Are those the actions of a truly contrite person?
