Congressman suggests that Mayor Fernandez extend his leave to one month

......A 17-year-old who confessed he participated in beating up the victims said that Joavan assured he will work for their release.

“Huwat lang sa mo kay init pa kaayo ang media (Just wait until the media attention subsides),” the teenager quoted the mayor’s adopted son as saying.

As a father, Gullas said he understands the mayor’s pain. He lauded Fernandez for taking a leave of absence as this only shows his concern toward his son.

The mayor’s leave, he said, will also erase the perception that Fernandez is taking advantage of his position to influence the victims.

“The honorable mayor must realize the enormity of the problem. He should assert his leadership when he assumes his post. He is also the father of more than 170,000 Talisaynons,” he said.

Gullas and Fernandez are close political allies in Talisay.

Gullas also urged Valmoria to take a closer look at the performance of the local PNP with Supt. Romeo Perigo as its chief.

This is really a big challenge for mayor soc..torn between son and his people..makasabot ko sa gibati nya as a father, louy pud bya..but he must act soon to cut his son's horn or else his credibility might end.

i dont know kung tinuod ba na anak-anak lang ni siya...but if indeed adopted lang gyud ni siya...well, i could say that heredity and genetics could play a part...

although not totally proven--nor disproven by science--there are theories that state that certain traits like alcoholism and criminal behavior are inherited...

now, using the analogy that most people who put their children up for adoption are either prostitutes or criminals...it can be concluded na liwat lang siya sa iyang tinuod na ginikanan...

of course, we still cannot discount the fact that a child's upbringing affects how we will be in the future...in this case, i daresay that the mayor of Talisay is not a good statesman, as manifested that he cannot manage the affairs of his own home and keep his spoiled brat at bay.
