Construction of a new terminal exclusive for international flights will start next year. The project will cost P1 billion and take a maximum of four years to finish. The existing terminal (which houses both domestic and international) will be converted exclusively for domestic flights.
In another related news, the existing "aerobridges" or tubes on the existing terminal will be upgraded and two more will be added bringing it to a total of six from four.. The project will start anytime this month and will cost P109 million. It will be finished in less than four months.
The said projects were unveiled by MCIAA General Manager Adelberto Yap in light of the increasing international and domestic flights to Cebu. In fact, the existing four aerobridges are not enough especially on a very busy day..
