It seemed that everyone interested have experience, aside from me. *cough cough*

    Just an opinion.

Editing is simply not all about Premier or Vegas or Avid or KEM or Steinbeck. Editing is about telling the story. Before we try learning anyone of the tools mentioned above, let us first read and learn James Monaco's "Editing Cape Fear".

This is true... and you can discover this by editing "random footage" and weaving it into one story such as as get-together or a birthday party... just my opinion.

The Editing Section of James Monaco "Understanding Cinema" is one good way to start our way to the movies; Monaco also wrote "Editing Cape Fear".

And now comes a definitive book on film editing by Charles Koppelman ($39.99 / New Riders and Peachpit Press) titled "How Walter Murch Edited 'Cold Mountains' Using Apple's Final Cut Pro and What This Means for Cinema'.

Like a carpenter, we have the best tools --- such as Premier, Vegas, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Moviola, KEM, Steinbeck, etc. --- and can hit the nail right on its head with our eyes closed. But can we build a house? This is editing question.

Another digital film outfit has just been organized today. It is called "Sunseed Films."

Its first outing, to start shooting in 2-weeks time, will be "Tolongtong." The original screenplay of this movie was written by Leon C. Villoria. Sometime in 1980s, "Tolongtong" was shot for a one-hour movie-for-TV with Bien Fernandez directing.

"Tolongtong" is a story of a great love that did not exist. For those interested to audition as Cynthia (bespectacled teacher in a small town, 27 years old) or Leodegario (lost innocence, carabao-English, a bit of palsy, door-to-door salesman of umbrellas and all sorts of koskos-balungos, single and virgin, 55 years old) you may contact Dr. Felimon Alberca and/or Boy Patalinghug.

Leon C. Villoria will direct this "Tolongtong." This is for Sinulog release.

"Tolongtong" is in Cebuano/Visayan to be shot in Cebu Province plus a 40-second dream sequence to be shot somewhere in either Singapore or Hongkong.

The telephone numbers of the gentlemen mentioned above are in the directory; otherwise you may PM me here.

Or if you can be at UP/Cebu on Oct. 7 between 9 AM and 12 noon for that conference on documentary filmmaking, the announcement will be formally made by the producers themselves.

"Tolongtong" is a story of a great love that did not exist.
