DSLR... a new hyp ??

DSLR = new hype? actually no. These cameras just got cheaper, just like cellphones or hi-end gaming computers. Its easy to order/buy... daghan na maka palit. Nothing's really wrong with that, if kana ra ato storyaan. But what i have noticed today, aside from being a newbie which wala ta'y problem ana... some "newbies" are "wannabes". For me this is the issue, the confidence and vanity level so high. They think and feel that they are so damn good. Well, wala pud ko'y problema ana, but their followers ang luoy.

wannabe: "hey dude, i just got my camera... i know photoshop... look at my work!"
follower (n00bie): "wow! you are good! you are a master!"
wannabe: "oh yes i am!"

ako noobie pa jud! i don't know and fully understand the features of my 350d, which my dad bought for himself (as he was into photography before) when prices were slashed as the new 400d came out. turned out he just bought it and left it to collect dust so i started to experiment on it.

I remember the first time i got out of auto mode and tried TV just because it sounded "cool".. hahaha! Higher value as i turned the knob meant better exposure? no, just darker. lowered the values till the " sign came out.. blurry shot. until i chanced upon the camera manual... hahaha i laugh at myself on how i started.

till now i am still experimenting and learning. i use special occasions like parties to practice and give the host a cd copy of my shots. it pleases me to see the glow of happiness on a person's face to see a family member appear in my shots (even though many shots visibly suffer from camera shake), but still it gives me that satisfying feeling that my shots made that person happy. I don't need to be praised as there is not much to really praise about.

all i'm saying is for my part i'm into photography because 1) so a good camera won't become just a dust magnet, 2) i love to see a good exposure, 3) and love it when people like the shots i took... just my 2 cents.
